It’s hard for many to picture a time when Wheel won’t have Pat holding the cards, but that time is nearing quickly.

On June 12, Pat shocked the world by announcing that he was stepping back as host for what fans feel is a well-deserved retirement. Pat announced on social media that Season 41 will be his last. He added, “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months.”

He will be around to usher in a consistent and satisfying transition. That host has already been announced as none other than Ryan Seacrest. Ryan announced on June 27, telling fans, “I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.” He added that he will be joining Vanna White in the tradition of spinning the wheel as the show moves into its next era. Ryan will start his tenure as host in September of 2024.
