Is ‘Murder She Baked’ Fan-Favorite Back For New ‘Hannah Swensen’?

Dismayed Hallmark mystery fans have been waiting for a resolution to the Carrot Cake Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. Thankfully, the cast and crew are back in Vancouver finishing up production of the next mystery, A Zest For Death.
However, is a Murder She Baked fan-favorite star returning for the new Hallmark mystery movie? Sleuthers may notice some pretty good clues that this actor will be returning, after being noticeably AWOL in the first two Hannah Swensen Mysteries.
Who may be coming back?

Is Murder She Baked Fan-Favorite In New Hannah Swensen?
Sleuthers have been waiting for the conclusion to the shocking Carrot Cake cliffhanger for nearly two months now. Thankfully, Alison Sweeney, Cameron Mathison and the whole gang are in Vancouver filming the follow-up, A Zest For Death: A Hannah Swensen Mystery.
However, someone was missing from the last two mysteries. That was Lisa Durupt, who portrays Hannah’s sister Andrea. A lot of Sleuthers have really missed her in the past two movies. But, it looks like she is back.

According to Durupt’s Instagram, she appears to be in Vancouver filming. The coincidence between that and the new Hannah Swensen Mystery can only mean one thing. She must be back!
Confirming that she is working for Hallmark, she wrote, “Just when you think you get a break…They put baby wipes in your trailer. #workingmomlife #actor #hallmark #romanceuniversity #returningstudent”
To add to this possible confirmation, Alison Sweeney wrote, “😂”
Also in the comments, many fans posted how they hoped she would return to the mystery series. They just wanted her back. But, Hallmark nor Lisa Durupt, nor any other crew or cast has confirmed anything. Sleuthers will just have to wait. Instead, they can debunk those rumors about Lisa being gone from Hallmark for so long.
Did the Canadian actress leave Hallmark?

Lisa Durupt Has Never Left Hallmark
One major misconception is that Lisa Durupt left Hallmark after Murder She Baked. That is because she was not in the first two Hannah Swensen Mysteries, when the Hallmark cozy mystery series returned, but changed from the original name due to some legal reasons. Both series are the same and are all based on Joanne Fluke’s cozy murder mystery novels.
However, Lisa Durupt has been on Hallmark several times since the last Murder She Baked mystery back in 2017. Moreover, she even acted in a couple of mysteries. In 2021, she starred in Time For Them To Come Home For Christmas, and High Flying Romance. In 2019, Durupt reunited with Alison Sweeney in Chronicle Mysteries: Recovered, as Gina Devsavio. Even earlier, she starred in a Garage Sale Mystery, as well as with Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker in The Perfect Catch.
Besides Hallmark, Durupt has starred in an episode of How To Murder Your Husband, as well as 13 episodes of Heartland. She was unavailable to film the first two Hannah Swensen Mysteries, and it is likely due to scheduling conflicts with one of these two projects.

Why Did Murder She Baked Turn Into Hannah Swensen?
Why did Hallmark change the name of its Murder She Baked mystery series To Hannah Swensen Mysteries? When the series returned, Alison had told a few publications that it was for legal reasons. She never elaborated.
Sleuthers, it looks like Lisa Durupt will likely be back as Hannah’s sister in the upcoming mystery A Zest for Murder: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. Share your thoughts on this problem return in the comments below.
