Kourtney Kardashian, 44, is being ripped by critics for a move they say is hypocritical.

The Kardashians star and her husband Travis Barker recently dropped a gender reveal video for their unborn bundle of joy. It was supposed to be a joyous moment for the couple, who has struggled with infertility. However, joy quickly turned to criticism as the video showed some questionable choices. Instead of being swamped with congratulations on their gender reveal, Kourtney and Travis were awash with comments calling them wasteful and hypocritical.

Kourtney Kardashian recently made the surprise announcement that she and her husband Travis Barker are expecting a baby together. The couple has six children between them from other relationships. Kourtney is the mom of Mason Dash, 13, Penelope, 10, Reign Ashton, 8. And Travis is father to Atiana, 24, Landon, 19, and Alabama, 17.

This will be their first baby together as a couple. Kourtney broke the news in an ode to an old Blink-182 music video while Travis was performing on stage with his band. She held up a sign reading, “TRAVIS I’M PREGNANT,” and the rocker reacted with confusion, then surprise and joy.

Now, Kourtney and Travis are revealing that eagerly anticipated baby’s gender. And, drumroll: they’re expecting a baby boy.

But it wasn’t the baby’s gender that stirred so much outrage online, it was the video itself.

In the video, Kourtney sat on Travis’s lap as he sat in front of a drum set. Kourtney showed off her growing bump in a bodycon skin-tight dress. Travis then offered a drumroll, and blue streamers exploded into the air while Kourtney and her husband embraced. The moment was supposed to be focused on Travis and Kourtney sharing their joy and excitement. However, people couldn’t help but notice that the streamers covered the ground and tangled amongst the trees, leaving the landscape littered.

Kourtney is known for her celebration of all things organic and natural, so people naturally pointed out the hypocrisy in a litter-filled gender reveal. One fan wrote, “That cr*p biodegradable???” Another added that only a Kardashian could get away with, “… a ridiculous way to pollute the environment with a sh*t ton of confetti outdoors.”

Others added their hope that the streamers were biodegradable, asking why Kourtney promotes herself as “earth friendly” with actions like this. And one fan opined that for someone who is focused on organic and natural, “I’d think all that litter would be a problem.”

So far, Kourtney and Travis haven’t responded to the criticism. They’re too busy celebrating the impending arrival of their baby boy.
