‘Wheel Of Fortune:’ Bravo’s Andy Cohen To Replace Pat Sajak?
Bravo host Andy Cohen could be the perfect pick to replace Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune. News broke earlier this month that longtime host Pat Sajak would be stepping down from his iconic role. And people have been speculating endlessly on who can fill his shoes.
Some suspect that Pat’s partner on the show, Vanna White, is ready to step into his shoes. But her pick as host would just create another hole to fill, so it may not be the ideal solution. As it turns out, Bravo host Andy Cohen may be the natural pick. And it would be a dream come true for the Watch What Happens Live host, too.
Andy Has A History Of Hosting Shows
Andy Cohen hosts reality TV show reunions alongside Watch What Happens Live. And the 55-year-old is an executive producer for the Real Housewives franchise. There’s one hill he has yet to climb, one goal left to conquer: hosting Wheel of Fortune.
In the past, aside from his reality tv show host gig, Andy has hosted another game show. The Fox reboot of Love Connection had Andy at the helm. This allowed the Bravo host to dip his toes into the world of game shows, but he’s never hosted a proper game show like Wheel.
However, the iconic American pastime is right up his alley. And the role of the host is now open after Pat Sajak announced plans to retire. In a statement online, Pat wrote, “Well, the time has come.” After 41 seasons, 76-year-old Pat added, “It’s been a wonderful ride.”
Andy Cohen Could Replace Pat Sajak As Host Of Wheel Of Fortune
In a recent interview with US Weekly, Andy Cohen revealed that being tapped as host of Wheel of Fortune would be ideal.
Andy told the outlet, “Dream, dream job. I would love to.” He added, “That would be incredible.” The producer continued, “Not only is a game show the thing that I haven’t done yet, but that is the premiere game show. It’s really fun.”
Wheel of Fortune first premiered in 1975 with Chuck Woolery as the host. Pat Sajak took over in 1981 and has remained the face of the game show ever since. Andy Cohen stepping into Pat’s role could be a natural progression, and a dream come true for the popular reality show host.
Do you think Andy Cohen is the best replacement for Pat Sajak? Or should the Wheel of Fortune family look elsewhere for a new host? Let us know what you think in the comments. And you can catch Pat’s final season of Wheel of Fortune starting in September. For now, the question of who will host next remains a mystery.
