Whoopi Goldberg Goes Off During LGBTQ+ Discussion

Whoopi Goldberg The View - YOutube

Whoopi Goldberg has never held back from sharing her opinions on The View. Goldberg is passionate about her beliefs and sometimes that translates into waving hands and raised voice. Some call it a rant. When Whoopi and Sara Haines were having a discussion on LGBTQ+ issues, Goldberg felt Haines was being insensitive and the conversation got heated.

Gender Affirming Surgery For Minors a Touchy Subject

On Friday, June 9, 2023, The View addressed some serious issues that are being talked about in the media and in political circles lately. Regulars on The View (Whoopi Goldbera, Ana Navarro, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Joy Behar, and Alyssa Farah Griffin) were joined by Dr. Jennifer Ashton to discuss the issues around LGBTQ+ youth.

During the conversation, Haines said, “…people aren’t bringing kids to drag shows.” She continued to talk about how there are misunderstandings about what gender-affirming care really means.

Goldberg Jumps In With Her Two Cents

Whoopi couldn’t hold back. When Whoopi Goldberg has something to say no one is going to stop her and that goes double when LGBTQ+ issues are at hand. According to Meaww, Whoopi said that none of this was anybody’s business.

Before Sara had finished her last word, Whoopi jumped in to say, “You’re not helping me. You’re scaring my kids. You’re making them feel like they don’t deserve to be here and they don’t deserve to live. This is on your hands. This is what we’re dealing with.”

Whoopi’s stance is that she knows her kids better than anyone else and no one should be able to tell her what decisions she can and cannot make for them. Her biggest concern was that by denying health care to kids who identify as a different gender than the one they are assigned at birth, the kids are made to feel like they don’t deserve to be here.

Whoopi Rants When She Cares

There’s one thing you can be sure of with Whoopi Goldberg – when she’s waving her hands, pointing fingers, and practically jumping out of her chair, it comes from a place of caring and passion. Sometimes it’s about issues that directly influence her or her kids. Other times, it is just a cause she is empathetic about. And then there are the times when she just can’t hold back because it simply needs to be said

Recently, she even went off on a rant on her Instagram account about her favorite video game, Diablo. She’s annoyed because she can’t play the newest version, Diablo IV on her Mac computer! She said, “I use Apple computers, that’s what I’ve always used to play Diablo. And suddenly now, Diablo 4 is not available to me on my Apple computer. And I already bought Diablo 4.”

What do you think of Whoopi Goldberg’s latest rant on The View? Did she go too far? Or was she right about everything she had to say?
