‘Doubling Down With The Derricos’ Family & Fans Struck By Scam
The Doubling Down With the Derricos family and their fans have been struck by an awful scam. Unfortunately, someone is trying to profit off of Deon and Karen Derrico‘s family. What’s all of this about? How do fans know whether to trust it? Keep reading for all of the details so you aren’t hit by the scammers.
Karen & Deon warn fans of a nasty scam.
It’s not uncommon for scammers to use the names of celebrities on various fundraisers. This has happened to plenty of TLC stars in the past, and now, the Derricos are victims of a scam.
On social media on Tuesday evening, just before a new episode of DDWTD aired on TLC, both Karen and Deon shared new posts with fans. They revealed that there is a scam going around that uses their family’s name to get donations. Unfortunately, they’re afraid their loyal supporters could be taken advantage of by this.
In their Instagram posts, both Deon and Karen shared the same screenshot of a fundraiser asking for support as they “raise a village” of children. It looks like the fundraiser was originally posted on Facebook. In it, the scammer is asking fans to donate desks and school supplies for the Derrico children.
In her post, Karen made it very clear that she was not behind this scam. She said, “Nope not me! DO NOT DONATE ANY MONEY TO THIS ACCOUNT!!” She called it out as being “fake.”
Then, in his post, Deon said that his family wouldn’t post on social media asking for financial support like this. He went on to say that it’s only true if it comes from him, Karen, GG, or Eric. Fortunately, he set the record straight as soon as possible to make sure none of his followers donate and waste their money on a scam. Hopefully, it is deleted soon before any fans are scammed.

After seeing Deon and Karen’s new Instagram posts, fans expressed their feelings. Many are disappointed that someone would use the family’s names in this way. Here’s how some of their followers have reacted:
