Is Shiny Happy People Season 2 coming soon? The EP (executive producer) has broken her silence on the future of the series. The docuseries has captivated viewers and gotten a lot of attention on social media less than a week after it hit the streaming service. As we reported, it’s currently #1 in the United States on Amazon Prime Video. So, it would make sense if it returns for a second season. What has been revealed so far?
Fans are intrigued by the Duggar family docuseries.
On Friday, June 2, Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets debuted on Amazon Prime Video. The series looks into the Duggar family and their strict religious beliefs. For decades, they have been a part of the IBLP (Institute in Basic Life Principles). Now, their harmful teachings are coming to light. Several Duggar family members shared their stories, as did ex-IBLP members.
The executive producer breaks her silence on Shiny Happy People Season 2.
On Reddit this week, the Shiny Happy People executive producer, Cori Shepherd Stern did an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session with fans and critics. She took the time to address many questions about the series, including behind-the-scenes details and what the future holds.
Specifically, she mentioned the possibility of a second season. One fan pointed out that the Bringing Up Bates family only made a brief appearance in the first season of the docuseries. In response, Cori said, “Oh man! We wanted to go into the Bates!!! It was just so hard to be able to get everything in. SEASON TWO!!”
In another question, a Duggar critic asked Cori if there will be a second season. It sounds like she and her team are very interested in creating a second season. Of course, it’s up to Amazon. She explained, “We HOPE SO!!! Go to Amazon Prime Video on all socials and begggggg! We have SO much more to tell!! Thanks for watching!”
Since the first season primarily focused on the Duggars, there is plenty more to address in another season. As of now, the series hasn’t officially been renewed. Hopefully, there will be an update very soon.
