Mama June: From Not to Hot fans chatting about the latest hustle on Reddit are floored as they try to wrap their minds around why people are actually making purchases toward Pumpkin’s latest cash grab.
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird’s Latest Cash Grab: Yet Another Scam?
In a video clip shared on Reddit a few days ago, one fan of Mama June: From Not to Hot reveals that Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird is currently selling pens for $10 a piece. Watching the video, Pumpkin explains that she has red disposable cups with pens inside of them. Each cup has a single pen in it. Calling this hustle “pen pong,” the followers on her TikTok Live can buy balls for $10 apiece. Each ball will be tossed, and the viewer will get whatever pen is in the cup the ball lands in. So, if a viewer purchases three balls, they will get three pens for a grand total of $30.
Technically, the first pen ends up costing $15 instead of $10 because Pumpkin also requires her viewers to pay a flat rate shipping fee of $5. Fans assume if someone purchased a bulk sum of pens that Pumpkin would require them to pay a larger shipping fee.
Fans Are Floored By This All-Time Low
In chatter on a Reddit dedicated to this cash grab, fans question why there are so many people willing to purchase a $10 pen with a $5 shipping fee. These confused fans put emphasis on the fact that her customers aren’t even getting to pick their pens, it is completely random.
A few fans clarified there are a lot of Mama June: From Not to Hot viewers who are purchasing the expensive pens just for the excitement of buying something directly from none other than Pumpkin herself. The way TikTok works, however, Pumpkin’s viewers on her stream would also include people who have no idea who she is. So, the real head-scratcher for fans is why complete strangers stumbling upon her live streams are purchasing $10 pens.
One fan exclaimed: “Seriously?! $15 with shipping for that? Some people have more money than brains.”
