‘Queen Charlotte’ Season 2: Will Netflix Renew Or Cancel?
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Season 1 has only been on Netflix for a few days and subscribers are eager to know if it will be canceled or renewed for Season 2. As Netflix subscribers know all too well, the streaming giant is a bit ruthless when it comes to cancelations. Being extremely popular with a massive fan base doesn’t seem to stop the network from pulling the plug on a series.
Julie and The Phantoms, for example, is a series with a very vocal fan base that continues to remind the streaming service they are not happy with the decision not to renew. Unfortunately, so much time has passed that there is a dramatic difference in appearance in the very young cast from the series. So, the chances of this show ever getting picked up for Season 2 are highly unlikely.
With just six episodes, subscribers have had no trouble binging through Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. In fact, the historical romance drama has become the number-one series on the streaming platform in just four days since it was released.
Is the intense popularity of this show a good sign Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story will get renewed by Netflix for Season 2? Or, is this more of a limited series with one season time of situation? Keep reading for the scoop.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Season 2 Possibility
As subscribers binge through all six episodes of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story Season 1 on Netflix they have one question: Will the streaming service renew or cancel this series? According to Hollywood Life, Shonda Rhimes has filled fans of the series with hope as said in a statement that she certainly wouldn’t rule out the series coming back for Season 2.
Per Hollywood Life, Netflix has not renewed the series for Season 2 just yet. There, however, is a massive buzz around the series and subscribers definitely want Netflix to renew and expand on the story of Queen Charlotte. Given how successful the series Bridgerton is with Netflix subscribers, it isn’t too surprising that this historical spin-off was equally popular.
India Amarteifio, the actress who plays Charlotte, tells EW she loved playing the character and would absolutely return to be a part of Season 2 if the opportunity to do more episodes presented itself.
“She’s fantastic. I feel very lucky to be able to portray someone who’s so complex. I would absolutely love to do something in the realm again.”
Sadly, also speaking to EW, Shonda Rhimes clarified the series was intended to be a limited series with a “closed-ended” love story. She, however, wouldn’t rule out there being a potential for there to be more to the story.
