Kim Kardashian Gets Acting Lessons For ‘American Horror Story’
Ryan Murphy cast Kim Kardashian in the next season of American Horror Story. While this news was not encouraging to fans of the horror anthology series, it looks like Kardashian is actually taking acting lessons as she prepares for the role.
Here is what Kim had to say about the new role and how she is preparing for the opportunity.
Kim Kardashian taking acting lessons for new TV role
Kim Kardashian just attended the Met Gala and spoke to reporters about her upcoming role in American Horror Story: Delicate. She told a Variety reporter that they start shooting her part of the movie at the end of May. Kim then admitted that it is fun for her because she gets to step out of her comfort zone and try something new. She called the experience “exciting” and then let them know how she is preparing.
Kardashian said that she is taking acting lessons as she gets ready to go and film her scenes. “I am, of course. It’s a challenge. I like to challenge myself,” Kim said.
Kim has limited acting experience. She appeared in the spoof movie Disaster Movie in 2008, the movie Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor in 2013, and voiced one of the lead characters in the animated PAW Patrol: The Movie in 2021. However, much like Paris Hilton, Kim will go from debutante to acting in a horror movie.
For Paris, it was House of Wax, and while she didn’t receive glowing reviews for her role, her death was a fan-favorite moment in the movie. One wonders if Kim will get a similar sendoff in American Horror Story.
American Horror Story: Delicate is based on the upcoming novel Delicate Condition by Danielle Valentine. The book’s description indicates it is about a woman who ends up pregnant, but she believes something is wrong. When a doctor tells her she miscarried, she believes she is still pregnant and she believes the men in her life have some diabolical plans for her. She is also not sure if the baby inside of her is normal or not.
Emma Roberts stars as the lead role, the pregnant woman in the story.
Patty LuPone not happy with Kim Kardashian casting
Patty LuPone is one of the repeat stars from American Horror Story. She has appeared as Joan Ramsey in American Horror Story: Coven (Season 3) and Kathy Pizazz in American Horror Story: NYC (Season 11). When she was on a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he asked her about Kim’s casting. LuPone was not amused.
The actress said she was not happy about it and she took it personally. She said, “Excuse me, Kim. What are you doing with your life?” She went on to say that Kim shouldn’t “get on the stage.”
