Tragically, TMZ confirms that TV legend Jerry Springer passed away at the age of 79. A spokesperson of his family revealed his cause of death was losing to his battle with cancer. Sadly, the talk show host was diagnosed with cancer just a few months prior. In the past week, his health took a tragic turn for the worst. The spokesperson of the family confirmed to TMZ that Jerry Springer passed away in the comfort of his own home in Chicago after losing his battle to cancer.

Jerry Springer is a name just about everyone knows. For 27 years, his syndicated talk show called The Jerry Springer Show provided the world with all sorts of wild entertainment involving outrageous and sometimes controversial guests. Anyone who had the pleasure of watching his talk show would agree there was never a dull moment.

Prior to being a TV legend, Jerry Springer also dabbled in politics. In 1970, his campaign for U.S. Congress failed. He, however, got elected to Cincinnati’s City Council a year later. Then, in 1977, he served as the city’s mayor for a single term. 
It, however, was his controversial and entertaining TV show that landed him in the spotlight. Debuting in 1991, his talk show kicked off with a focus on politics. It, however, wasn’t until it took a sharp turn in a different direction that it became a massive success.

Understandably, the world was gutted when the TV show came to an end. And, this isn’t a death the world was prepared for.
