‘When Calls The Heart’ Season 11 Starts Filming Before Season 10 Premiere
Erin Krakow has been busy promoting her new movie with Brendan Penny called The Wedding Cottage. Therefore, it is no surprise that there are questions about When Calls The Heart Season 10.
Thankfully, the actress and executive producer of the long-running Hallmark series is happy to share some tidbits about the series. This includes filming WCTH Season 11.
Hearties will be happy to learn that they will start filming before the Season 10 premiere. What is the plan?
When Will Hallmark Start Filming When Calls The Heart Season 11?
On Friday, Erin Krakow spoke to ET about her upcoming Hallmark movie The Wedding Cottage. Of course, there were some questions about When Calls The Heart Season 10. The actress who portrays Elizabeth Thornton was happy to share some teasers. However, she also talks about Season 11.
One of the biggest revelations is that Hallmarks plan to start filming their long-running series in late June. That is a month earlier than normal. For the past few years, they began filming in the Vancouver area in late July. Generally, they completed filming by American Thanksgiving.
Erin shared, “Our showrunner is hard at work. I know that production is getting things in motion to get started. As always, I’m looking forward to getting back to Hope Valley and reuniting with our cast and crew.”
Why Is Hallmark Starting WCTH Season 11 Production Early?
Why did Hallmark seem to move up the When Calls The Heart Season 11 filming schedule up a month? Although the interview did not ask further questions about starting production early, this change could mean something else is happening with the series.
Again, although Hallmark has said nothing to indicate why they are making this change, Hearties could surmise some of the possible reasons for the earlier start date.
First, could this news potentially mean that more WCTH stars could be available to film a 2023 holiday movie? Or, could this potentially mean that Hallmark may order a WCTH Christmas movie?
The last WCTH Christmas movie, Home For Christmas, premiered on December 25, 2019. In this movie, Lucas (Chris McNally) tries to impress recently widowed Elizabeth with a Christmas festival. He wants to introduce some Bouchard holiday traditions to Hope Valley.
Hallmark did not make a Christmas movie in 2020 due to Covid. Instead, they supersized Season 7 to 12 episodes. This was also the case in 2021, and 2022. There are more episodes, but no Christmas movie. It has been a three-year absence. Could this change in Christmas 2023?
Other Reasons…
Next, another reason that they may have decided to start filming earlier is to further supersize Season 11. Perhaps Hallmark has ordered 14 episodes instead of 12? This is certainly possible.
Lastly, they may have decided to start filming early due to the weather. Fall weather in Vancouver can be rainy and blustery. A June start date gives the production team a better opportunity for good weather for filming the series.
There is a cornucopia of reasons why they could have made this change. We may never know why. Or, the picture will be clearer in the upcoming months.
When Does When Calls The Heart Season 10 Premiere?
