Ryan Seacrest cried over his touching goodbye tribute. His last day took place on Friday, April 14. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, fans were upset to learn they pre-recorded the broadcast. Keep on reading to learn more.
Ryan Seacrest says goodbye to Kelly Ripa
Back in February, Ryan Seacrest announced that he was leaving Live with Kelly and Ryan. He plans to move back to Los Angeles to work on his various projects and film the live episodes of American Idol Season 21. Ryan co-hosted the daytime talk show with Kelly for six seasons. However, it was time for him to say goodbye and hit the west coast.
Next week, the talk show will revamp into Live with Kelly and Mark. Kelly’s husband Mark Consuelos will replace Ryan Seacrest on the show. It will focus on the couple’s marriage. Mark even came out to say goodbye to Ryan. The special episode featured “Ryan Moments” over the years.
Even his family came out for his last day on set. Ryan Seacrest’s much younger model girlfriend Aubrey Paige was in the audience with his sister and parents. The emotional episode had the co-hosts in tears. There was also a surprise guest at the end. First Lady Jill Biden arrived at the end with Mark.
Both of them wheeled out a large cake. It was an emotional moment for everyone involved. There was not a dry eye in the room. Kelly couldn’t help but cry throughout the broadcast.
Not a dry eye on the LIVE! set
Ryan Seacrest couldn’t help but cry once he saw the cake. That’s when he realized this was the last time that he would be on the show. At the start of the show, he shared that Kelly wondered backstage if she was going to be the first to cry. He was the one who cried over his touching tribute.
The episode had many flashbacks of their most memorable moments. The show featured highlights from his first day on May 1, 2017, to his final day. Ryan Seacrest donned many costumes throughout the years. Of course, the episode showed the costumes from their famous Halloween shows.
I’m going to miss my Live family, there’s no other place like it. I’m truly grateful and honored to have been a part of it for 6 years. Thank you. pic.twitter.com/1ihXrEjwOW
