TLC Bringing ‘Love & Translation’ To New Max Streaming Service
With the announcement that Warner Bros. Discovery is renaming HBO Max into simply Max, the company announced several new shows. They will be coming to the service over the next year. One of these is a reality TV show from TLC called Love & Translation.
Here is what we know about this new series coming to Max later this year.
What is Love & Translation from TLC?
Love & Translation is a new TLC reality dating series that will come to the new Max streaming later this winter. The show takes the idea of a dating show with a twist and does something very unique. Neither the men nor women will be able to understand each other. It is almost like a reverse of the themes from Netflix’s Love is Blind.
Instead of the men and women not seeing each other and having to figure out if they like each other just from conversations, this has the people unable to really talk or communicate with each other at all. That is because none of the women speak English and none of the men speak any other language.
The show will see three American men and 12 International women travel from across the world to a remote paradise island together. While this seems a lot like Love Is Blind, in this case, there won’t really be any talking when getting to know each other. However, there is one way that the men and women can talk – and it should make things a little awkward.

There will be translators available for the men and women to use to get their words across to each other. The entire idea of the show is to see if these people can use their other senses to develop a connection. They will then determine whether their chemistry and attraction can overcome the fact that they don’t speak the same language. The only real questionable part of the show is that there are just three men and 12 women. Therefore, the women don’t have the same choices available to them as the men on the show.
Max bringing new reality TV shows to the masses
The new Max is combining HBO Max and its prestige television with reality shows from Discovery Channel. It will include shows from Discovery and its sister networks like TLC to offer fans what Discovery+ offered, but with the addition of HBO’s catalog.
This includes new shows like TLC’s Love & Translation as well as shows like Discovery’s new upcoming reality series, Survive the Raft. Also announced were several scripted shows coming, including the first-ever Harry Potter series, a new Game of Thrones sequel, and the Batman spin-off The Penguin.
