As TV Shows Ace reported, the Bates family was hit with a hard and unexpected loss this week. Gil Bates’ brother-in-law, Thomas Craig Fleming passed away at the age of 55. Thomas, who went by Craig, was the husband of Gil’s sister, Jenifer.
The Bates family is huge and has many members. Because of this, it can be challenging for fans to keep up with everyone and to know who’s who. There are some family members that Bringing Up Bates fans don’t know a lot about. So, it’s possible fans didn’t know much about Craig until the news broke of his passing.
Now, Kelly Jo is sharing more about Craig’s wonderful personality. She penned a lovely tribute in his honor.
Kelly Jo Bates breaks her silence.
On Instagram on Wednesday morning, Kelly Jo shared a throwback video from Christmas 2022. In the video, Craig is speaking about their Christmas traditions.
In her caption, Kelly Jo reflected on who Craig was and talked about how much he meant to their family. She wrote, “Yesterday, we attended the funeral of a dear loved one, our brother-in-law Craig Fleming, who was married to Gil’s sister Jeni. At 55 years old, it seems he left us way too soon, but we are forever grateful for our memories of Craig.”
She described him as “a gentle, kind, optimistic person that everyone enjoyed being around.”
The Bringing Up Bates matriarch pointed out that he encouraged everyone to “let our lights shine.” She added that he will be very missed.
