Where were Gil & Kelly Jo Bates spotted?
The Bringing Up Bates matriarch and patriarch were seen at the ALERT Family Camp, which ran from October 8 through October 14. This event is part of IBLP (Institute of Basic Life Principles). Gil is on the IBLP’s board of directors. Both the Duggar and Bates families are involved in IBLP.

Hilary Spivey, Justin Duggar’s mother-in-law, shared several photos and video clips in a new Instagram Reel. The Reel features the photo with Gil and Kelly Jo Bates in the background. Some of their younger children are in the other photos as well.

Bringing Up Bates fans wonder if they’re hiding something.
On Reddit, Bates family fans are discussing Gil and Kelly Jo’s recent appearance at the IBLP Family Camp. They find it interesting that Gil and Kelly Jo haven’t posted about Family Camp on their own Instagram page. Some fans think they might be trying to keep it a secret that they attended.
Fans speculate that the Bates couple is trying not to post about their connection to the IBLP. There is some controversy surrounding the organization. A documentary is currently in the works and is expected to expose some of the IBLP’s secrets. So, this would explain why Gil and Kelly Jo didn’t post that they went to Family Camp this year. Plus, Josh Duggar’s crimes are not good for the IBLP.
One Bringing Up Bates fan says, “I would be more surprised if any of their adult kids went or they posted about it since they sanitize their image.”
Others are saying this is proof that the Bringing Up Bates stars are still very much a part of the IBLP. They just don’t seem to want to talk about it publicly anymore, likely due to the controversies.
Someone else adds, “The parents are still in the cult, some married kids left.”
Despite Gil and Kelly Jo’s decision not to post about the event, fans still busted them attending and caught them keeping it a secret.
