American Idol fans call out Katy Perry
As TV Shows Ace previously reported earlier this month, fans noticed when Katy Perry dissed contestant Sara Beth Liebe during her audition. She told the contestant to be more proactive with her singing career. During the Sunday, March 5th episode of American Idol, Sarah Beth felt uncomfortable with the “Teenage Dream” singer. Katy didn’t want to hear anything about Sarah Beth’s backstory or personal dreams.
She loudly sipped her drink and turned her seat and looked out the window. Katy was disinterested in Sarah Beth’s interview. Some fans reacted on Twitter during the show and accused the singer of being a “bully.” Others claimed that Katy doesn’t like to support other women.
- “Some of the things Katy Perry says to female contestants are shady.”
- “Katy Perry has some major attitude tonight. Sheesh.”
“Why was Katy Perry bullying that girl?” - “Katy Perry being a mean girl to Sarah Beth.
Everyone remembers when she was involved in a feud with Taylor Swift. Katy bluntly told Sarah Beth that she’s not going to make it far. She also felt that the aspiring singer wasn’t enthusiastic enough. However, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan gave her the two “yeses” she needed to go to Hollywood.
Sarah Beth Liebe speaks out
Earlier this week, Sarah Beth spoke out about her encounter with Katy Perry. She called her out for that awkward incident. Sarah Beth said in her now-deleted video on TikTok that Katy told her she looked 16. Katy was shocked to learn that the 25-year-old was also a mom of three.
Sarah Beth admits that Katy “wasn’t super kind” during the audition. She’s confirming that the “Dark Horse” singer was a bit of a bully. Sarah Beth felt embarrassed to have her audition air on national television like that. She thinks Katy should support other women and fellow moms.
“I think that women supporting women and uplifting other women is so cool and I think that mom shaming is super lame and I think that it’s hard enough to be a mom and it’s hard enough to be a woman,” Sarah Beth said, as quoted by ET Online.
She concluded her message by advising everyone to “keep loving your babies.” She feels that no one should “feel crappy” like that. Katy Perry is a mom to two-year-old daisy. It’s unclear where Sarah Beth’s future on the singing competition lies.
