For several weeks now, Wednesday nights have meant one thing for fans of TLC: an episode of My 600-Lb. Life followed by an episode of My 1000-Lb. Best Friends. Unsurprisingly, fans of TLC were pretty bummed when the episode of My 600-Lb. Life ended last night and it wasn’t followed up by an episode of 1000-Lb. Best Friends. Why didn’t a new episode of 1000-Lb. Best Friends air?
Fans of the TLC series raced to Reddit and Twitter last night to question why a new episode of 1000-Lb. Best Friends wasn’t on last night. Was there some sort of delay with the next new episode? What was going on?
Unfortunately, there is a very simple reason why a new episode didn’t air last night. Turns out, last week’s episode of 1000-Lb. Best Friends was actually the season finale. So, a new episode of the TLC series didn’t air last night simply because there aren’t any more new episodes to air. Moreover, this means disappointed fans don’t have any additional new episodes to look forward to at this point in time.
Will the series get renewed or canceled?
Naturally, the biggest question fans have is simple. Will there be new episodes? Will TLC renew or cancel My 1000-Lb. Best Friends? Sadly, TLC is a network that tends to wait till the last minute to confirm the renewal of a show. Most of the time, fans learn of renewals because members of the cast end up leaking the fact that they are filming. Oftentimes, cast members do this accidentally when fans spot a cameraman or a boom microphone in the background of something they posted on social media.
Weight loss shows happen to be a genre TLC does really well with. So, as long as the cast is willing to return, it seems highly likely that the network would renew the series for another season. A renewal of this show, however, many not be confirmed until a premiere date for a new season is announced, though.

I only got to watch episodes 6,8,9 of season 2. Are they ever going to televise 1-5, 7?
This is not fair. We grow to care about the characters and what happens to them and then nothing? I won’t be watching anymore new, true episodic shows, as there always seems to be a cliff hanger at the end, without notice!
