Should ‘Mystery 101’ Fans Be Concerned About Kristoffer Polaha’s Hallmark Mystery Update?
Mystery 101 fans have become concerned about the future of their favorite Hallmark mystery. Recently, several fans of the series shared their frustration online that there is not any sort of news on the beloved mystery series.
Moreover, why has a recent, brief interview with Kristoffer Polaha caused this group of Sleuthers to feel concerned that Hallmark will never release the movie that resolves a cliffhanger that has unsettled fans for the past 19 months?

Kristoffer Polaha Discusses The Future Of Mystery 101
On Tuesday, Just Jared posted a short interview with Kristoffer Polaha on the “Future of Hallmark’s Mystery 101 Series.” Originally, Polaha was interviewed about his upcoming movie A Winning Team. He also graciously answered some questions about Mystery 101.
First, he revealed that the cliffhanger in Deadly History was crazy. “The last 30 seconds of number seven where you’re like, what!”
Of course, no one will forget that Travis and Amy finally admit they love each other. Then, the scene flashes forward some months to find that Amy is engaged to someone else. Sleuthers want to know what happened during those lost months.
Next, Polaha confirmed that there has been no progress forward with an eighth mystery movie. “We love telling those stories and whatever the network decides…it’s inconclusive.” In addition, the Wonder Woman 1984 star seemed optimistic about mysteries in general.
I do know that the mystery audience is a really awesome one and I want to continue telling stories for that audience in one way or another. I’m excited to see the future brings.
Best of all, he charmingly called Sleuthers “awesome.”
Kristoffer Polaha Confirms Hallmark Mystery Series Has Not Been Canceled
In addition to sharing that there is nothing to announce to Sleuthers, he does talk about making an eighth movie. He said that “there’s always been conversation about number eight, [but] there’s no like official word.” Kristoffer is letting fans know that there is talk, but nothing has been planned at this time.
As TV Shows Ace readers know Mystery 101 screenwriter, John Christian Plummer, has confirmed that there is a script, and it is safe in his abode.
In addition, Kris acknowledges that other Hallmark Signature Mystery Series like Picture Perfect Mysteries, Hailey Dean Mysteries, and Matchmaker Mysteries are canceled. We know this because the prospective leads, Alexa PenaVega, Kellie Martin, and Danica McKellar, announced it on social media. However, Polaha confirms that Mystery 101 has not been axed.
I know that some of those shows were officially canceled, but there’s been no official word on Mystery 101.
Should Fans Be Concerned About Hallmark’s Mystery 101?
A lot of Sleuthers and Mystery 101 fans have been alarmed by this interview. However, it should be pointed out that there is nothing here that says that Kristoffer Polaha and Jill Wagner’s mystery series is over. Kris confirmed that Hallmark has not been canceled.
It should also be noted that even if Hallmark has made plans to move forward with making the eighth mystery, Kristoffer would not casually mention it in an interview. Instead, there would be an official release from Hallmark Media making the announcement, just as they did with the latest Hannah Swensen news. There would be statements from the VPs of programming, and even a statement from the stars.
In addition, it has become customary that Hallmark will make this announcement when production begins. There are a lot of details that go into making a movie happen. There can be a lot of delays and unexpected surprises. No one wants to make an announcement prematurely.
Therefore, the network seems to want to make sure that they make a big announcement when everyone is on set.
Should fans be concerned about this latest interview? No. They should not. While this is the same news that has been shared for the past year, there is nothing here to indicate that Hallmark has decided against making another Mystery 101.
Will they make another Mystery 101? We don’t know. But, if they were not open to making another movie, they would have told Kris and Jill it was canceled. Kris stated it is not canceled.
Therefore, there is still hope.
Both Stars Have Had Lots Of Projects
Hopefully, some of the distressed Sleuthers should now feel some optimism that Amy and Travis could return to each other’s arms soon. However, Jill Wagner has been busy filming Lioness. Kris has had a cornucopia of projects. That means that it may be weeks, or even months before any sort of possible filming could take place. Moreover, that is how long it will take for an announcement will take, should Hallmark decide to make the eighth movie in the series.
Meanwhile, Sleuthers should continue to watch mysteries. In addition, make sure you let Hallmark know on social media that you love mysteries and want a conclusion to the Mystery 101 cliffhanger.

Please, please, please bring back Mystery 101 back. You can’t leave us hanging with that cliff hanger. Who is Amy engaged to and why since they said they loved each other? This is one of the best series you have out there and really need to get this back in production.
Please Please bring it back. This series is one of the BEST that you ever had. You had so many complaints since you canceled it which any program executives would realize there BIG MISTAKE.
All us fans of Hallmark Movies and Mystery are waiting for the return of this great series.
