The 30-year-old took a brief break from social media. It came amid the drama involving Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber. Both ladies lost 800k Instagram followers, respectively. Selena Gomez announced her social media break on February 23 and returned on the 26th.
Since then, she’s posted wholesome pictures of herself with her family. That hasn’t stopped the fans from bringing up the drama involving Hailey and Kylie. They accused the duo of bullying the former Disney star in their Instagram Stories. Kylie shared a close-up of her brows after Selena unveiled her laminated brows on TikTok.
Interestingly, she called them a “mistake.” Then she followed up with a FaceTime of herself with Hailey. It was focused on their brows. Selena Gomez has been focused on spreading positivity on social media. However, she still got dragged into drama when she shared a now-deleted TikTok video about “God’s timing.”
The Only Murders in the Building star admitted that her “heart has been heavy” lately. She took to the comment section of her recent TikTok video on Sunday, March 5. That’s when Selena shined a light on mental health, which is what she’s been outspoken about.

“Thank you and love you all so much. I’m deeply grateful for each and every one of you humans. You make me unbelievably happy,” Selena Gomez wrote in two separate comments. “Please, please be kinder and consider mental health. My heart has been heavy and I only want good for everyone. All my love.”

The “Lose You to Love Me” singer has a complex relationship with social media. Selena Gomez has to use it for the sake of her platform. However, it’s affected her mental health in the past. She’s taken many breaks from social media over the years.
In 2017, Selena Gomez handed her phone over to her assistant. She admitted that she didn’t have the password to her Instagram account. The actress found it freeing not to be on social media. In 2019, Selena revealed that she no longer has access to Instagram.
Some of the posts on her timeline would leave her feeling “depressed.” However, she returned to Instagram in January 2023. Selena Gomez has been active ever since. In her interview with Vanity Fair, she admitted that she prefers TikTok since Instagram gives her anxiety.
