Will Hallmark Time Travel Series ‘The Way Home’ Be Renewed For Season 2?
Hallmark introduced the new time-travel series The Way Home in January. Since then, viewers have become enthralled by the three-generation story that stars Andie MacDowell, Chyler Leigh, Evan Williams, Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Alex Hook, Al Mukadam, Jefferson Brown, and David Webster.
Will the series return for Season 2? The network has officially made an announcement.
Hallmark Media Makes Announcement About The Way Home Season 2
On Thursday, Deadline reported that Hallmark Media has renewed The Way Home for a second season. Most of all, the second season promises more of a deep dive into the Landry family history.
More so, viewers are turning in on Sunday nights. This series is topping such reality hits as 90 Day Fiancé, and Real Housewives of Potomac. Viewership is increasing as the tale of the Landry family gets more mysterious. Can they go back to the past and solve their problems today?
The Way Home Originally Developed For Netflix
In the recent Decider interview with Hallmark Media EVP of Programming, Lisa Hamilton Daly, she revealed that The Way Home was something she developed for Netflix in her previous position. Instead, it became Hallmark’s first new series in seven years.
Moreover, she revealed that she fell “in love” with the time travel series from the time the story was pitched to her at lunch. The savvy executive was behind Virgin River and Sweet Magnolias, two winning series for the streamer.
However, she is not done developing new series with Hallmark. In 2023 there will be a total of three new series premiering. The feel-good network has announced two-thirds of these series.
Hallmark Premiering New Rodeo Series Ride Late March
Additionally, Hallmark has a new series on the horizon. Premiering on Sunday, March 26, at 9 p.m., Eastern, is Ride. Lisa Hamilton Daly reveals that this is a series with “hot cowboys.” Although different from The Way Home, Ride “is another family story that is told in the sweeping vistas of the West and is a little soaper.” She also hinted that “there’s some mystery.”
Ride premieres right after The Way Home Season 1 finale episode. However, Hallmark is airing that episode an hour earlier at 8 p.m. Eastern.
There are two more Hallmark series. First, there is When Calls The Heart which will premiere Season 10 in July and is already renewed for Season 11. Lastly, there is an upcoming Christmas series called Holidazed.
According to Sleepy Kitty Paw, who wrote on Twitter, about filming Holidazed in November. This stars Erin Cahill, Ian Harding, Lillian Li, Tim Perez, Barry Levy, and Jacob Insley. Keeping things quite secret, Hallmark has not yet announced it. Therefore, they should be announcing it sometime between now and the October Countdown To Christmas kick-off.
Are you looking forward to another season of the Hallmark series The Way Home?

- Hallmark’s ‘Leah’s Perfect Gift’ Stars Emily Arlook, Evan Roderick, Barbara Niven - November 27, 2024
- Have The Perfect, Magical Christmas With Hallmark’s ‘Sugarplummed’ - November 27, 2024
I’ve been watching it and was looking forward to all the issues being resolved for the characters Sunday. I don’t see how it can go on for another year. The story line is limited, in my opinion. The premise of the time travel as set out on the show is that you can’t change the past even if you can travel back to it and look at it.
