‘Below Deck’: Aesha Scott Says Captain Lee Too Old For Yachting?
Below Deck Down Under star Aesha Scott says Captain Lee Rosbach is too old to work in yachting. She shared her thoughts in a new interview. This comes amid the reports that Captain Lee left Below Deck after Season 10. This news came as a shock to the viewers who loved him since the beginning. Keep on reading for more details.
Aesha Scott agrees with Captain Lee’s replacement
Below Deck Mediterranean alum Aesha Scott talked about Captain Lee’s departure. She told podcast host David Yontef that he should leave the series due to his health issues. On Season 10 of Below Deck, Captain Sandy Yawn temporarily filled in for Captain Lee, who had to take a step back due to nerve damage in his leg.
New reports suggest that he’s not returning for another season. Below Deck Adventure newcomer Captain Kerry Titheradge will replace him in Season 11. Aesha Scott feels that it’s the right call. She feels that the OG needs to retire from yachting. She feels his pride has gotten in the way of his health.
“I feel like he shouldn’t have even started to come back for this season anyway because he does have a lot of trouble walking,” Aesha said on the latest episode of Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef. “He is getting old and it’s always better to kind of leave on a high than trying to keep clawing on. Now he’s had to leave in this way that would probably be quite embarrassing to him.”
She feels that he’s too old to hold down his position anymore. Aesha will return for Season 2 of Below Deck Down Under. The new season is said to be in production soon. Fans loved seeing her in the first season, which marked her debut as a chief stew.
Does the Below Deck star have an ego?
Aesha shared some more of her thoughts on this season of Below Deck. She feels that Captain Lee’s ego has kept him from retiring. Aesha also called him an “old school” captain who didn’t like having a female captain step in and replace him. The chief stew thinks that it probably “crushed his ego.”
“I think he’s such an old school salty sea dog and the fact that a younger woman captain is coming in to take over — I just feel like that would’ve crushed his ego,” Aesha explained. “I knew that walking off there, he would’ve been swearing under his breath. I knew that would really affect him.”
Captain Lee is reportedly leaving Below Deck after Season 10. Reports suggest he left on his own, while others suggest he wanted to leave the show. What are your thoughts? Do you think Captain Lee is too old for yachting? Sound off below in the comment section.
