Whoopi Goldberg Clinches Teeth Insisting She’s ‘Not Upset’

Whoopi Goldberg clenches her teeth and insists she was “not upset.” She brought up the Oscar nominations once again. This took place during the February 20th episode of the talk show.

The View invited actress Elizabeth Banks as a guest. The comedian is the director behind the movies Charlie’s Angels and Pitch Perfect. She talked about her new comedy, Cocaine Bear. That’s when the panel discussed the 2023 Oscar nominations.

Sunny Hostin mentioned there were women “nominated in the director category.” Elizabeth explained that Cocaine Bear had “a lot of CGI because of the stereotype that women aren’t interested in the technological aspect of movies.” She added that some people assume “women’s brains don’t do math.” People still assume women don’t like math or technology.

The panel laughed. Whoopi Goldberg brought up the Oscar nominations. She didn’t get a nomination for Till. She only brought up the other nomination that was “women” and “women of color.” Whoopi gritted her teeth at the camera as she subtly talked about her snub.

“Just to be clear, there were several movies that were ignored that were directed by women, women of all colors,” Whoopi Goldberg explained. “Just saying, with a smile on my face. I’m not upset.”

People could tell that she was talking about herself. The actress pointed at herself, which showed a sarcastic smile. Whoopi made it look like she was smiling. However, she was probably screaming on the inside.

Addresses Till Oscars snub live on The View

In January, Whoopi Goldberg addressed her snub live on The View just hours after the nominations. The 2023 Oscar nominations list came out earlier that morning. Whoopi admitted that she wasn’t happy about her snub. In addition, the Academy didn’t recognize director Chinonye Chukwu.
