Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson welcomed their son Rome on January 10, 2023. They invited Derek and Hayley over to meet the little boy and they fell head over heels in love with him.

“There wasn’t a rush on [thinking about kids] until we just met Val and Jenna Chmerkovskiy’s baby, and that was when it was kinda like, ‘Should we get on this now?” Hayley told Entertainment Tonight in a recent interview.

“It was pretty special, and actually it was cool ’cause Val, he was like, ‘Bro, for somebody who creates, this will be your ultimate creation,'” Derek added.

But for now, the couple wants to get through their wedding planning. In the interview, they said that their dream wedding involved lots of nature scenes. But in true Derek fashion, there will probably be fireworks and pyrotechnics involved.

Derek and Hayley love sharing and engaging with their fans, so they will likely give more updates about their wedding plans shortly. Fans are incredibly excited to see photos of the special day after it happens.

DWTS will likely proceed with three judges this fall

Head judge Len Goodman announced his retirement at the end of Season 31, leaving many fans wondering how the show will proceed from here.

According to Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas, DWTS producers might not replace Len at all. Keeping three judges means that it will be much easier for the group to come to a consensus when it comes to eliminations. Since Derek Hough is the youngest judge, the “head judge” title will likely be given to Carrie Ann Inaba or Bruno Tonioli.

There will likely be more news to share about casting when summer approaches.

Check back with TV Shows Ace soon for more news and updates on Derek Hough and the rest of the DWTS cast.
