Amy Halterman Breaks Silence About Murdered Family Member
TLC dropped a bombshell on fans a few hours ago when Amy Halterman revealed a member of the 1000-Lb. Sisters’ family was murdered. This bombshell came via a preview clip from an upcoming episode of the reality TV series. Which family member from 1000-Lb. Sisters was murdered? 1000-Lb. Sisters: Family Member Murdered
The preview kicked off showing Amy Halterman and her brother Chris Combs preparing to do some yard work. Amy jokingly admitted that her brother Chris was looking a lot like their grandfather. She proceeded to explain that her grandfather was no longer with them. Sadly, he passed away before Amy was even point.
Then, the story took a slight twist as she revealed her uncle “fed him antifreeze” and that was how her grandfather died. Turns out, Amy Halterman’s uncle killing their grandfather was featured in a book.
She explained that her grandfather’s murder was featured in a book called Murder in the Heartland. Amy proceeded to clarify that her grandfather’s murder was covered in Volume 2 of the book.
Fans Shocked To Learn Of This Murder
1000-Lb. Sisters fans admit listening to Amy Halterman laugh and giggle while talking about this story made them uncomfortable as it wasn’t actually a funny part of her family history. Other fans chimed in telling everyone to give her a break as this piece of history happened before she was born. Likewise, fans also pointed out that sometimes awkward and nervous laughter is a coping mechanism. And, laughing could just be how Amy deals with it.

1000-Lb. Sisters: Details Of The Murdered Family Member
A Logansport, Indiana newspaper called the Logansport Pharos-Tribune shares the details of the murdered 1000-Lb. Sisters family member. This news clipping reports that Ellis was arrested in December of 1986 and charged with three counts of murder. He reportedly “spiked his father’s ice tea with antifreeze.” Ellis (the uncle) was reportedly living with his 61-year-old father at the time.

The clip goes on to reveal that Amy Halterman’s grandfather became sick on November 6th. At the time, authorities thought he suffered a stroke. He was transported to Pearce Hospital where his condition became serious. So, he was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital located in Evansville, Indiana on November 7th. Amy Halterman’s grandfather passed away on November 20th. His son (Amy’s uncle) was charged with murdering him.
