How does Josie Bates Balka make a living?
As fans know, Bringing Up Bates was canceled a year ago, so the family no longer relies on the show for income. Fortunately, many of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates’ kids have found other ways to make a living. Josie runs her own business and seems to do well for herself. Through her business, Effortless Beauty, she offers hair and makeup services for weddings and other special occasions. She also owns The Effortless Shop, which is an online store where she sells a variety of hair accessories and jewelry.
She also occasionally works with various companies to promote their products to her many followers. By doing this, she may get paid a flat rate for each ad or she can make a commission off the sales that come from her ads.
Josie’s husband Kelton Balka is a plumber and owns Tennessee Standard. Tori Bates’ husband Bobby Smith works there too.
Bringing Up Bates fans are shocked by her lavish lifestyle.
In an Instagram Reel recently, Josie Bates Balka took fans along as she went about her morning. She included a clip of herself and Kelton working out in their living room. Fans were shocked to see Josie wearing tight leggings. But something else caught everyone’s attention too. In front of Josie and Kelton, there’s a full-length mirror with a workout video playing on it.

On Reddit, fans are discussing this expensive piece of workout equipment. It’s the Lululemon Studio Mirror and offers a selection of workouts on demand. One fan said, “They must be doing alright if they own one of those mirror things to work out with. I looked into getting my partner one and instantly felt incredibly poor.”
Also on Reddit, a few fans pointed out that this mirror typically costs $1500. Right now, on Lululemon’s website, it’s for sale for $795. It’s unclear when Kelton and Josie purchased it, though. Another fan pointed out that a subscription is required to use the mirror as well. So, this only increases the cost.
Somehow, Josie and Kelton were able to afford it.
