‘The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses’ Set For A 2023 Premiere
The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses rom-com anime is all set to premiere in 2023. Based on a Japanese manga series of the same name, the series was first published on the author, Koume Fujichika’s Twitter account in 2018 before its serialization in the Monthly Gangan Joker magazine later that year. Square Enix Confirms The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses Anime
The TV series was confirmed on January 13, 2023, by Square Enix. The manga creator also shared an illustration to celebrate this big announcement. This illustration featured the prime characters of the anime which include Kaede Komura and the girl with glasses, Ai Mie (minus her glasses). In the picture, they are holding a whiteboard with text that confirms its premiere date.

Moreover, the anime’s official website is also hosting a countdown that ends on January 31, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. JST (6:00 a.m. EST). So, it is possible that the anime series will premiere by the month’s end. However, no confirmed date has been announced yet. While the manga has nine volumes to date, a tenth volume is set for release on January 20, 2023. In English, the series is licensed by Comikey and printed by Square Enix as reported by Anime News Network.
Kaede Komura Wishes To See Ai Mie’s Beautiful Eyes
With Ai Mie and Kaede Komura as the lead characters, the series is a light-hearted rom-com that revolves around the former’s weird tendency of forgetting her glasses. As his deskmate, Kaede Komura is always attentive toward Ai Mie. He is attracted by her cute charms and all he wishes is for her to look at him with those beautiful eyes hidden beneath her glasses.

Within a few days of making her acquaintance, Kaede noticed that Ai is a bit different. Her glasses are missing, yet, he finds her just as adorable. Contrary to her regular habit, she has now developed a tendency to forget her glasses.

Despite her short-sightedness, Mie soon becomes someone who wishes to see Kaede by her side. While Kaede is a shy-natured boy in middle school, he is mesmerized by Mei’s warrior-like personality. Moreover, she also has a love for aquariums and learning about sea creatures.
