‘Yellowstone: 1923’: ‘Survival Is Coming’ But Viewers Unhappy
On Monday, Paramount+ released their latest trailer for the Yellowstone prequel spinoff 1923. This new Taylor Sheridan series tells the story of John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) ancestors.
This preview video shows the possible transition of what takes the Dutton Family cattle ranch to the next level. Moreover, this preview shows who is going to step up and become the person who changes the course of this embattled family’s history.
However, along with the exciting preview, there is some news that has disappointed viewers. What news made them unhappy?
Yellowstone: 1923 Preview: ‘Survival Is Coming’
On Monday, Paramount+ released the next trailer for 1923. The trailer starts with Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) admitting, “My concern is survival.” Next, we see Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) asking to buy a ticket to America, with Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) in tow.
Evil Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) thinks he is about to take down Jacob Dutton. In a diabolical voice, he says “He loves his land. And we will take it from him.”
Meanwhile, after clips that talk of vengeance, Jacob tells Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren), “I know how much you’ve suffered.” Jacob seems determined to not let her grit go to waste. He is determined to win this battle. He has Spencer coming.
However, things are not going so smoothly for Spencer and Alexandra. They are on a boat that is waving back and forth. Spencer calls into a communication device, “Mayday! Mayday!” Meanwhile, Alexandra flies in the air, as the boat rocks out of control.
They need to get to the ranch. Will they make it?

1923 Is Going On A Break
1923 is taking a mid-season break. The remaining four episodes of Season 1 will be back in February. The fifth episode will premiere on Sunday, February 5, on Paramount+.
Yellowstone: 1923 Fans Disappointed By News
On Instagram, Paramount+ shared the preview video, and the caption, “The story is far from over. @1923official returns February 5, only on @paramountplus. #1923TV.” Several unhappy Yellowstone: 1923 fans shared their displeasure at learning the show is taking a nearly month-long break.
One fan wrote, “Why a break? Makes no sense.”
Another seemed much more annoyed. “A month without new episodes? Was last episode a season 1 finale? What kind of ridiculous scheduling is this?”
A third wrote, “What’s with these long breaks, its bad enough to wait for Yellowstone, why they doing another break?”
Understandably, fans of the series are upset. The 1923 break is in addition to the OG’s Season 5 lengthy break. Kevin Costner and company will not be back for the remaining six episodes of this season until sometime this summer.
Yellowstone fans felt that they at least had one Dutton story to follow during the winter. However, this is a mid-season break. There will be four new 1923 episodes airing on the four Sundays of February, on Paramount+.

Does Alexandra’s voice annoy anyone else? It makes her parts almost unwatchable to me – with her alternating between 2 tones, almost dueling schizophrenically. This is their interpretation of a period time voice? Makes me feel like she’s alternating between 2 personalities – and cannot control either.
