Deborah Roberts Shares A Sweet Picture With New Year Motivation
The Roker family has been going through a rough time following the weatherman’s health scare that landed him twice in the hospital. Al Roker was in the hospital after suffering blood clots in his lungs and legs. However, now that the 68-year-old is back with his family, they are welcoming the New Year with happiness and positivity.

On Thursday, the ABC journalist took to Instagram to share a sweet picture of herself with Roker and their adult kids smiling for the camera. They got the picture clicked inside New York’s Grand Central Terminal. The 62-year-old captioned the post, “Countdown to the New Year with renewed grace and gratitude. What’s your focus as we say goodbye to 2022?”
Al Roker Fans Share Their Focus For The New Year
Fans flocked to the comment section sharing their focus for the upcoming year. One wrote, “Daily gratitude will be my focus for 2023. Great to see you all together smiling. Happy New Year.”
“That Al continues to recover. We love him and your family so much. And that this New Year is filled with joy and ability to contribute in any way that I am able to,” shared another.

As Today show fans continue to pray for Al Roker’s health and wellness, his co-host Dylan Dreyer offered curious fans a positive update about him. While standing out in the Today show plaza, she noted that a crowd member held up a sign that read, “Get better soon, Al!”
Reading out the sign for viewers, she thanked the fan and promised that “Al’s doing great!”
Al Roker Has Struggled With Weight Since Childhood
The weather anchor has had several health struggles over the years. He has dealt with issues such as weight gain, and several surgeries, and has been in the hospital several times recently. Back in 2012, Al Roker revealed that he has wrestled with weight-related issues since his childhood. However, after watching Bill Cosby’s Fat Albert character on TV, it started bothering him.

In 2001, Al Roker underwent knee surgery after a car accident. Furthermore, in order to lose weight, he underwent bariatric surgery in 2002. After an on-and-off relation with his weight, the Today meteorologist had to undergo knee replacement surgery.
Today Weathercaster Was Also Diagnosed With Prostate Cancer
Next in October 2018, he underwent an emergency carpal tunnel surgery after battling the condition for months. In 2019, the weatherman had a hip replacement surgery followed by a second shoulder surgery. However, this didn’t end his health struggles as in 2020, Al Roker received a prostate cancer diagnosis. Soon, he underwent a five-hour surgery to remove some of his affected lymph nodes and prostate.
