Jeff Garlin’s Netflix Role Is First Following The Goldbergs Exit
Actor Jeff Garlin will now be a part of the Netflix comedy’s upcoming season. This marks his first role after his exit from The Goldbergs due to misconduct allegations. Garlin starred in The Goldbergs as Murray Goldberg since the start of the show in 2013. News of his departure from the ABC comedy series came in December 2021. The allegations included patterns of comments and physical touch that made people uncomfortable.

In an interview, he addressed the allegations stating that the series’ HR department has been investigating him for three years. Yet, he asserted that the rumors of him being fired were untrue. However, days later, the actor exited the show stating it was a mutual decision. Moreover, to maintain continuity, his character was killed in The Goldbergs Season 10.

Talking about the allegations, he told, “My opinion is, I have my process about how I’m funny, in terms of the scene and what I have to do. They feel that it makes for a quote ‘unsafe’ workspace. Now, mind you, my silliness making an unsafe workspace- I don’t understand how that is. And, I’m on a comedy show. I am always a kind and thoughtful person.”

Apart from his role in The Goldbergs, Garlin also starred in HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm as Jeff Greene. As reported by ComicBook, the series wrapped up Season 11 in 2021 before the actor’s exit from the ABC series. So, it isn’t clear if Garlin would still be a part of the upcoming Season 12.

Now, in the Netflix comedy, he is cast in the role of Len, who is a sweet man with a knack to create an amazing sandwich. He also makes Nirmala, Devi’s mother reconsider her view on relationships.
Back in September 2022, Garlin also admitted that suffers from bipolar disorder. On Instagram, he wrote, “Bipolar is a mother***er. Sometimes it’s just too much to deal with. I’m doing the best I can. This the first time that I’ve opened up about this.”
As of now, it’s unclear how significant his role will be in the upcoming Never Have I Ever Season 4.
