‘Yellowstone’ Prequel Spinoff ‘1923’ Smashes Records
Taylor Sheridan does it again. The creator’s latest Yellowstone prequel spinoff, 1923 premiered on Sunday. The series that stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren has smashed records, already deeming this two-season limited series a success.

Yellowstone: 1923 Smashes Records
On Tuesday, Deadline announced that the latest Yellowstone series about the Dutton family, 1923, “has set a new benchmark for the prolific creator — and for Paramount+.”
On Sunday, the new Taylor Sheridan series premiered, shattering Paramount+ records. This is the most-watched premiere in the United States. This surpasses a previous record by “nearly 80 percent.”
This includes some other big series including Halo, and two other Taylor Sheridan series, Mayor Of Kingstown, Tulsa King, and the other Yellowstone prequel spinoff, 1883.
Paramount+ reports that between the network and their linear telecasts, 7.4 million people watched the series. This includes CMT, and Paramount Network, where they showed two encore showings.

Chris McCarthy, the President/CEO of Paramount Media Networks & MTV Entertainment Studios shared the news that 1923 smashed records.

1923 tells the story of Jacob (Ford) and Cara (Mirren) Dutton, as they try to keep the Dutton ranch afloat during some of that period’s most challenging circumstances. This includes WWI, the Spanish Flu worldwide pandemic, Western Expansion, Prohibition, the stock market crash, and the Great Depression.
In addition to Ford and Mirren, the series stars several others that compose the Dutton family, foes, and ranch team. Brandon Sklenar is Spencer Dutton. He is Jacob’s nephew and John Dutton Sr.’s brother. He has just returned from WWI with physical and mental wounds. However, he is not spending much time on the ranch. Instead, he goes to Africa to track big game.
Next is Julia Schlaepfer. She portrays the British Alexandra, who meets one of the Dutton family members abroad.
Darren Mann is Jack Dutton, John Dutton Sr.’s son, and James Dutton’s grandson. Therefore, he is Jacob Dutton’s great-nephew. His passion is the ranch and the Dutton family.
Michelle Randolph portrays Elizabeth (Liz) Strafford. A firecracker, she is set to marry Jack Dutton.
Jerome Flynn portrays sheep farmer Banner Creighton. He is a Dutton adversary.
In addition, Brian Geraghty is Zane Davis, the loyal Dutton ranch foreman.
Lastly, Aminah Nieves is Teonna Rainwater. This young Native American woman has been sent to a government residential boarding school.

1923 Will Be Airing On Paramount+
On Sunday, December 18, 1923 aired on Paramount, right after Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 7. However, next Sunday, the series will be airing on the streaming service Paramount+.
