Below Deck fans had to say goodbye to Captain Lee. Some of them took to Twitter during the episode to share their thoughts. It’s the first in the show’s history that he stepped down in the middle of a charter season. He was dealing with nerve damage that made it difficult for him to walk.

Captain Lee also noticed numbness in his left leg. This was a tough decision since he felt like he let the entire yacht crew down. Even though Captain Lee experienced health issues in the past, he never had to say goodbye to his crew members.

Captain Lee returned to Below Deck Season 10. He admitted that he’s feeling a little differently after his surgery. Captain Lee was left with a physical injury that caused nerve issues. Half of his body made him go numb at once.

His mobility issues made him a liability on the yacht. It was the reason why he couldn’t remain on board. Captain Lee even admitted that he stayed on the boat longer than he should’ve. Once he spoke to his doctor, he knew it was time to return home.

Below Deck fans feared that it was the last of Captain Lee. He promised that he would return as soon as he got better. Thankfully, he’s getting much stronger these days. TMZ shared a photo of him in the gym last week.

In last night’s episode, Captain Lee joked that he will kick out the next captain once he returns. He plans to return before the end of Season 10 of Below Deck. Captain Sandy Yawn joined the crew to fill in for him while he was away. She has big shoes to fill since the crew members miss him terribly.

Captain Lee made it clear that he doesn’t like the idea of retirement. He has no plans on leaving the yachting industry behind. Former chief stew Kate Chastain also revealed that he is almost 100% healed. Captain Lee has made appearances at BravoCon 2022 and on Watch What Happens Live in recent months.
