Celebrity chef threatens Michael Strahan to throwdown

Sam Champion and his fellow co-host Heather O’Rourke appeared on ABC Great Eyewitness News’ Holiday Cook-Off with Marcus Samuelsson on Saturday, December 17. The episode featured news anchors Ken Rosato and Shirleen Allicot, who took part in a holiday battle. Guest judge Marcus shared that he wants to throw down in the kitchen with Michael Strahan.

“I would like to call up Michael Strahan on GMA, we’re going to have a competition you all would like to battle,” Marcus declared. “I bring my crew up against your crew anytime. How about that?”

Sam Champion joked: “I like this, I think it’s another show.” Marcus admitted that he knows where Michael lives. Michael responded to the challenge. He shared his thoughts during an on-air call.

“I’m up for a challenge. Marcus is a good friend of mine and my door is always open,” Michael shared. “And after that, we have a cook-off, I challenge him to a game of football. How about that? That’s equal in our skills.”

The crew watched his reaction video. It’s unclear as to when Michael will appear on an upcoming episode of the holiday show. Or, if fans will have to wait a year from now for it to happen. Fans would love to see a throwdown between Sam Champion and Michael. However, they will settle for the former NFL player to go up against the celebrity chef.

The weatherman took to Twitter to share a clip from the holiday game. Sam Champion wrote: “UH OH!! @michaelstrahan and @MarcusCooks are now sharpening knives for the #greateyewitnessnewscookoff.” Fans took to the tweet to share their thoughts on the clip.
