‘Mayfair Witches’ Introduces Sinister Forces With New Trailer
AMC’s upcoming horror thriller series Mayfair Witches shared a fresh new trailer promising a haunting tale comprised of sinister forces. It is based on the novel trilogy Lives Of The Mayfair Witches authored by Anne Rice. Furthermore, the series also has Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding as creators. When Does Mayfair Witches Premiere On AMC?
The young neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Mayfair, played by Alexandra Daddario, is the focus of the trailer. She discovers her own enigmatic abilities and also learns that a malevolent spirit stalks her. Rowan also learns that this spirit has afflicted her family for generations. As per CBR.com, the Mayfair Witches by Anne Rice will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on January 8, 2023.

In May 2020, AMC Networks confirmed that it has acquired the rights to both of Rice’s best-selling series. This includes The Vampire Chronicles and The Lives of the Mayfair Witches being adapted into a number of live-action television shows. A part of this acquisition is the series adaptation of Interview With The Vampire. It was initially a 1994 movie starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
Mayfair Witches Brings Together A World Of Mystical Creatures
Post-acquisition, Rice described the deal as one of the most significant and thrilling deals in her long career. She even revealed that it was her dream to see the worlds of her two biggest series being merged under a single roof. This would allow the filmmakers to explore the interconnected and expansive universe that comprises mystical creatures like witches and vampires.

AMC’s Mayfair Witches explores the concept of female power and the moral implications of one’s decisions. The story trails Rowan Mayfair, an intuitive young neurosurgeon. She discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. The series’ first look was revealed at the 2022 New York Comic-Con with Daddario, Tongayi Chirisa, Harry Hamlin, and Jack Huston in the lead. Moreover, the series was filmed in New Orleans and wrapped up in September 2022.
AMC’s Mayfair Witches Season 1 Has Eight Episodes
Dan McDermott, president of original programming at AMC Networks and AMC Studios, detailed the potential of the upcoming series. He revealed, “We have an enormous amount of ambition for these iconic works, which have captivated and entertained millions of fans around the world. So it is gratifying to be moving so quickly from the Interview greenlight to exploring a second series with such talented and accomplished writers and creators as Esta and Michelle.”

Season 1 will have a total of eight episodes introducing new entities and creatures to fans of horror and supernatural genres.
