‘Alaskan Bush People’ Rain Brown Explains Mental Hospital Trip
Rain Brown let her family know about her mental hospital trip on Alaskan Bush People. On the season finale of Alaskan Bush People, Rain Brown returned home to a big surprise. Her siblings had set up her gold mining equipment for her on the mountain.
She seemed grateful, but also took time out to sit and talk with her mom and siblings. It was here that Rain explained about her mental hospital visit.
Rain Brown on her mental hospital trip
After Rain finished her trip back to Alaska with sister Birdie and brother Noah, she suffered a mental breakdown. While the season focused on Birdie not getting over her dad Billy’s death a year later, no one realized Rain was going through the same thing. While Rain was watching out for Birdie and navigating their boat, she felt the weight of Billy’s spirit hard.
By the time she realized that Noah and Birdie were experiencing memories she didn’t have since she was too young to remember Alaska like them, she cracked. She realized she lost her dad and didn’t have the same memories of her siblings. She knew she needed help. It was a rare moment of vulnerability for a member of the hard-nosed Wolf Pack.
When she got back, she immediately checked herself into a mental health facility. She didn’t even stop at home to talk to her mom first. As she explained, it was best this way. Rain said that the people at the center taught her what she was feeling and why. They then taught her mechanisms to help her not forget about her dad, but to move forward and make positive steps after his passing.
While not everyone in her family really seemed to understand (Birdie had a perpetual look of confusion on her face), they knew that Rain did what was best for her and she can now move on with her life.
What is next for Rain Brown on Alaskan Bush People?
If there is another Alaskan Bush People season, expect the show to focus on the actions of two people. Noah Brown is moving his family back to Alaska next year, and the show should document this move back to Alaska, which should please all the show’s fans – especially those who miss the Alaskan times.
The second person is Rain. Before Billy died, he and Rain planned to look for gold on their land. In the season finale, an expert came in to look at what they had found, and sure enough, there is gold in their mountain home. With the base equipment set up, Rain could set up some better equipment and get to work on mining for gold, which could provide Discovery fans with a fun mix of Alaskan Bush People and Gold Rush.
