‘DWTS’: Jenna Johnson Reveals Heartbreaking Family Tragedy
Jenna Johnson didn’t compete in Dancing With The Stars this year, but she still played an active role in production. She helped choreograph many numbers and many fans spotted her in the audience week after week. Her husband Val Chmerkovskiy came in second place with his partner, Gabby Windey. Next year, she really hopes to be back in the ballroom.
The dancer and her family had a lot to celebrate this year. However, they’re heading into the holiday season with broken hearts amid a personal tragedy. Now, Jenna’s fans, friends, and castmates are lifting her and Val up during their time of mourning.
Jenna Johnson informs fans of her family’s personal loss
At the moment, Jenna Johnson is heavily pregnant with her first child.
She hoped to raise her little boy alongside her baby niece. But sadly, her niece tragically passed away. The dancer penned a touching tribute to her brother’s family on social media.
“My angel little brother and sweet sister in law went through the unimaginable as they lost their baby girl this last week,” Jenna captioned her heartbreaking Instagram post. She shared photos of her family at the gravesite of the little girl. “I’ve been in awe at their examples of hope and immeasurable strength during this heart wrenching time. So grateful for forever families and that our whole family was able to be together in honor of our beautiful niece,
Lennon Sky Johnson. 💗”
Jenna asked for her followers to keep her brother and his wife in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult chapter of their lives. According to the dancer’s sister-in-law, baby Lennon was tragically stillborn.
The Dancing With The Stars family is incredibly close, so it wasn’t a surprise that Jenna’s castmates flooded the comments to leave their condolences.
“My heart hurts for all of you! Sending so much love to you and the family 💔💔💔💔” Witney Carson wrote.
“Jenna, I’m so sorry. This is the most unimaginable. Sending you and your family all the love. Love you guys,” Koko Iwasaki added.
The situation is incredibly tragic, but it appears that Jenna Johnson and her family have a very strong support system. Fans wish them well during this time of heartbreak and sorrow.
The professional dancer is due in just a few more weeks
Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy plan to welcome their own baby home in January. They confirmed they have a name picked out, but they are keeping that a secret until the special day arrives.
“We actually have had a boy and a girl name picked out for three years now,” the 28-year-old dancer shared with PEOPLE. “Val actually picked out the name for our boy, so we have it.”
However, Jenna admitted that may change once she actually meets her son.
