Mayim Bialik Crumbles About Final Moments With Leslie Jordan

Mayim Bialik had a close relationship with the late Leslie Jordan. The two co-starred on the FOX sitcom Call Me Kat for two and a half seasons. However, Jordan only filmed eight episodes of Season 3 before he passed away when he had a medical emergency while driving. His final episode of the series aired on Thursday, December 1st and now Mayim, who plays Kat, is opening up about her last moments with her co-star. Read on for more details.

As Phil, Leslie was a force to be reckoned with. He made Call Me Kat every time he stepped onto the screen. Now that he is gone, a huge piece of the show is clearly missing. According to The Sun, Mayim Bialik opened up about her heartbreak over losing Leslie. She shared a video to her Instagram, discussing how his last episode had just aired. In this particular episode, Kat attempts to throw a Thanksgiving murder-mystery party which turns sour. However, Phil ends the episode with a kiss from his much younger, handsome, lawyer by day, drag queen by night boyfriend.

It could not have concluded on a sweeter note for the character. As Mayim tearfully recalled the episode, she had some heartwrenching words. “We didn’t know it at the time, but that was going to be … we didn’t know at the time that that was Leslie’s last episode.” However, she has said that this is an episode she just is not ready to watch.

Furthermore, Leslie made history for himself in that last episode as he shared his first on-screen aforementioned kiss. It was so delicate and sweet. Finally, Mayim said this: “Regarding Leslie Jordan’s final Call Me Kat episode that aired last night. May his memory only be a blessing. We miss you, Leslie.”

What’s Next?

The cast of the show, including Mayim Bialik, said that they were taking some time off to process and heal after his October 24th death. Yet, they did reveal that Vicki Lawrence had been cast as Leslie Jordan’s mother. The two had been longtime friends and this would have brought him immense pleasure. It seems they will have Phil live out his happy ending just not on-screen. Furthermore, there have been talks of trying new people to play that fun sidekick role but no one could ever be Leslie.
