‘Chrisley Knows Best’ Fans Urge Todd & Julie To Repent
It is no secret that Todd and Julie of Chrisley Knows Best received such harsh sentences because they maintain their innocence and refuse to take any responsibility for their crimes. A thread on a subReddit dedicated to the reality TV family recently discussed something posted in a fan group on Facebook about the Chrisley family’s situation. The thread questioned why Todd and Julie Chrisley, who claim to be of such strong faith, have yet to repent for the situation and their crimes.
Chrisley Knows Best fans urge Todd and Julie to repent
Fans of the reality TV family are in agreement that not accepting any blame or showing any remorse for the crimes they’ve been convicted and sentenced for has come back to bite Todd and Julie in the backside. The OP on Reddit clarified that the following question wasn’t originally their words. But, they believed it was spot on in addressing the current situation with the Chrisley family.
Here is an honest question for those of you who support the Chrisley’s. Some of you think the sentence is too harsh. Others say that it’s only God’s place to judge (or forgive). If Todd wants God to forgive him, doesn’t he need to repent? Isn’t repentance an admission of guilt. Like Todd saying “I did it and I am sorry. Please forgive me.” For those who think he is innocent, explain twelve people on a jury all being wrong. The verdict was unanimous.
In response to the thread, fans agreed it could definitely be a situation between Todd and God. However, they think it would have been a wise choice for him to make some sort of public admittance of guilt and apologize for his crimes.
Why haven’t they apologized or repented?
One fan kicked off their statement by noting they did not feel sorry for Todd and Julie’s situation. They, however, assumed Todd and Julie have not admitted any guilt because they intended to appeal the conviction. Once the couple shows remorse and admits guilt, they throw out any chances of appealing the situation.
Another fan chimed in: “My understanding of The Bible says we are supposed to follow laws and rules put in place (as long as it doesn’t directly go against God). So Todd has to serve his punishments in the eyes on God.”
“I’m gutted for them, but the evidence is overwhelming and I cannot believe the audacity they have to espouse Christian values and not even take accountability for what they clearly did. I never revel in someone else’s pain, but feel maybe prison is all that will get through to them. You should never lie in Christ’s name,” a different fan agreed.
On both Facebook and Reddit, fans agree they feel sad about the situation (because of the children), but they do not necessarily feel bad for Todd and Julie Chrisley because they created the bed they are not in.
