Can Todd and Julie Chrisley get out early?

People Magazine sat down with a former federal prosecutor and president of West Coast Trial Lawyers Neama Rahmani, who reportedly has no ties to the Chrisley family, to ask this specific question. Was it possible for the couple to get out of jail early?

Neama Rahmani tells the outlet that under federal law, getting out of jail early for good behavior isn’t really an option for Todd and Julie. The former federal prosecutor proceeded to explain the couple would be required, by law, to serve at least 85 percent of their sentence.

And that’s the minimum they’re going to have to serve if they’re model inmates. Unlike states where inmates can sometimes serve less than even half of their sentence, under federal statutes, you only get a slight reduction for good behavior.”

The former federal prosecutor added that Todd and Julie Chrisley only really have themselves to blame for their “high sentences.” Rahmani explained that they only received such a hefty amount of time behind bars because they refused to own up to their crimes or show any remorse. Even now, the couple and their entire family still insist they are innocent and justice has not been served.

Doing the math, Julie Chrisley is federally required to serve just under six of her seven-year sentence. Todd would be required to serve a little over ten years of his 12-year sentence. Julie and Todd would have to be considered role model inmates and get approved for release after serving 85 percent of their sentence, though.

Did you know Todd and Julie Chrisley can’t really get out of jail early? Let us know your thoughts down below. And, keep coming back for more news on the Chrisley family.

  1. I think they should not have to spend that much time hell Tresa n Mike both got out spending under 3 years so I don’t think it’s fair they have to spend what there giving them

    1. Tresa didn’t defraud the government by as many millions as the Chrissleys…Tresa stole a few millions, the Chrissleys ran up exorbitant bills, bought extravagant homes, they then would claim bankruptcy, so they wouldn’t have to pay the money back while hiding earnings from real estate, and their Tv show, you can’t do that when filing bankruptcy!

    2. it’s too long. they should serve half at the most. The punishment is not fitting rhe crime. another example of picking and choosing who gets what punishment and who gets away with things…we do not have. fair system.

  2. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I’m tired of rich people getting off because they are rich or famous. I’m glad they are receiving justice. I have no sympathy for them, they stole money to keep yo their lavish lifestyle. They claim to be godly, doesn’t sound Jesus like to me.

    1. But yet actual murderers are walking the streets because we don’t want to be racist, stealing money sounds like a governor job and Biden isn’t in prison 🤔

      1. They only received harsh sentences because they refused to take accountability so that is fair. All they had to do was say I am sorry for this, and I should not have lied and taken the money but instead they want to place blame on someone else.

      2. Not sure what racism has to do with murderers being on the streets. Murderers come in all colors……

      3. And we all know Trump & his Crime children should be locked up for good, hopefully real soon that will happen!

    2. Your comment doesn’t reflect the teachings of Christ either, my friend. We are all sinners so who are we to judge? If you know them, they are Godly and do live Faith filled lives when the cameras aren’t on.

Criminals that inflict harm thru drugs or violence often get less severe sentences. The Crisley’s had no malicious intent and did not inflict any harm on any individual and did not steal from anyone’s pocket. Their crime was to a man-made entity; the banking system. The majority of all business does the same thing everyday. All business is crooked.

The sentence doesn’t fit the crime. Plain and simple. It’s to the governments benefit to allow them to work in order to get their money back versus the government (rather taxpayers) paying for their incarceration!

      1. I surely beg to differ, they lied covered up and stole many millions at least 30 million, if you think banks are the ones that pay for this, you’re mistaken, the banks pass on their losses to us their customers…the Chrissleys even tried to place some of their blame on the dear old mother Faye!

  3. If they are really going to jail they need to be there for the ride. Because if you were poor the judge would throw the book at you and you wouldn’t get out So why waste time do the right thing take your punishment like you should don’t hide behind lawyers and judges.

  4. They bilked millions of dollars out of innocent people to live the high life. They deserve this sentence and more. No pity from me. They have no remorse and still justify what they did. They are criminals.

    1. They didn’t take from no innocent people!!! They did buisiness transactions with banks!! And, That is done all day long with buisiness people!!!

      1. And WHY did the banks give them money without verifying the documents were real and in order? If they didn’t verify and just took their word then the banks got what they deserve. I say shorten or suspend their sentences and give them probation and fines. They didn’t hurt anybody physically or sell drugs to kids. They just told lies to get loans they couldn’t pay for and the banks gave it to them.

        1. That is correct I am praying for them to come home Look at the Bidens and federal docs now that should be a secere sentence People have done much worse and they are walking around unpunished

      2. But yet they say they did not take money from the bank transactions. Maybe if they would have admitted that they would have gotten lighter sentences.!

    2. They are not criminals. They definitely don’t deserve the time that was given maybe a year or two may be fair. But not 6 plus years that absurd. You really don’t know the full story. They definitely didn’t intend to take from innocent people. Get some facts straight I will sit here and defend them as a fan because I understand and I’m poverty level but I have understanding so you’re telling me they took money from me no. I am a fan and also a follower of Christ and I don’t think what they did was good but don’t deserve as much of a punishment they got. We are all imperfect only god is perfect and he will be the rightful judge on them.

  5. But yet actual murderers are walking the streets because we don’t want to be racist, stealing money sounds like a governorment job and Biden isn’t in prison 🤔

  6. I don’t think they should have to do so much time, rich people have been doing that forever!! Hell if they are doing all that time, Trump should be right there with them!! But my prayers are with you Todd and Julie!

  7. Odd to me that since all their legal trouble, especially Todd, now sees the need for the Lord in his life! A great awakening for sure, if it is real and sincere. God knows ALL hearts. Just have to wait and see!

  8. i think the sentence does not fit the crime, in NY we release criminals with our bail reform and they continue to do the same.

  9. Regardless of their plea of innoncent, I think the judge went way overboard with the sentencing. Many who created fraud got way less than that – so I hope they get a retrial and be given a lesser sentence if in fact there is guilt. Unless, I am a part of the trail, I cannot judge them.

  10. What did trump do why is everything Trump’s fault ,tMaybe we should look at Biden and his son not Trump but anyway, I think the Chrisley’s got too much time to and also people can make mistakes and ask God to forgive them, so don’t judge them if they turn to God.

    1. I agree with you. people are so against Trump, but not Biden. Anyway, why didn’t they stagger their sentences? let one serve, then the other. This is all ridiculous! Their ex manager even lied for a lighter sentence. they should be free until a retrial

  11. They were made an example.
The judge whose poor judgement, by wanting to see remorse, should be removed. There is no law governing remorse as a part of the process of bringing sentences.
Many ways this could have been handled without taking the Mother of 2 minors away.
It’s just sickening the way this has been handled from the beginning.
Hunter Biden walks the streets when he has done the same crime but his Dad has ensured his safety. Talk about rich having to pay? The Chrisleys weren’t rich enough apparently.

  12. People kill others and do less time. The sentence is ridiculous and maybe they are innocent. I mean none of us know. Maybe their accountant did it without their knowledge? Who knows but I know here in CA- you barely serve a year with violent crimes

  13. I am tired of wealthy people being treated different. I was a huge fan of their show. Todd and Julie preached all about doing the right thing and here they were taking all of that money, lying and screwing everyone. No I hope they serve their whole prison sentences and that whatever they stole is taken away from them.

    1. they preached God and Christian values every episode. please don’t judge them until you have to bear the same cross

  14. I do not agree with the time they got. There are plenty of politicians that should be behind bars for far worse. The Governnent takes enough taxes from us as it is. The crime does not fit the punishment. They should have just gotten a hefty fine to pay and community service. Why put them in jail and let us people pay the bill for it? If they feel they are not guilty then why should they have remorse?remorse is just admitting you are guilty. Good Grief… Let them out!!!!
