‘Today Show’ Fans Declare Thanksgiving Cancelled
Today Show fans are declaring Thanksgiving canceled. On Thursday morning, they took to Twitter to talk about the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Some are disappointed with this year’s broadcast. Fans feel there is “no point” in celebrating Thanksgiving this year. Find out why they want to cancel the holiday.
Al Roker misses first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
In 27 years, Al Roker missed his first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, the Today Show fan favorite went missing from the event. He is recovering from multiple blood clots in his legs and lungs. The co-host went to the hospital after the scary medical encounter.
On Thanksgiving Day, his fellow co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb kicked off the festivities. They paid respect to their friend, who is at home recovering. Dylan Dreyer is filling in for Al, as she takes on the streets of New York City.
“For the past 27 parades, at this moment, we’d turn to Al Roker, our Today Show colleague and our best pal, as a lot of you have heard, Al’s recovering, and he’s recovering very well from a recent medical issue,” Hoda said at the beginning of the holiday special. “We just want to say we love you, Al. Wonder if you’re watching? But, we wish you a full recovery.”
Savannah added: “We love you, Al. We’ll see you next year!” The pair took it over to Dylan Dreyer, who filled in Al in the Upper West Side. On Friday, November 18, Al took to Instagram to share his medical diagnosis with his fans and followers. He received support from his Today Show family, including celebrities such as Holly Robinson Peete, Octavia Spencer, and The View co-host Sara Haines.
Today Show fans declare Thanksgiving canceled
On the heels of Al’s recovery, Today Show fans declared Thanksgiving Day canceled. They were disappointed to see him not roaming around the streets of NYC during the parade.
Some of his iconic moments include running into the “Butter Man,” a man who was dressed as a stick of butter. On Thanksgiving morning, fans took to Twitter to react to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
What’s the point of the #MacysThanksgivingParade if Al Roker can’t continue the annual tradition of fighting with butter? pic.twitter.com/Xxa1oEHMR0

Here is just some more of the reaction:

- “It is not Macy’s Thanksgiving parade without Al Roker. Thanksgiving is canceled.”
- “No Al Roker @MacysParade2022, who’s going to taunt Buterman?”
- “It just doesn’t feel like Thanksgiving without Al Roker!”

I feel there is to much talking and not enough time for the singers to finish the only one they let finish was Mariah Carey and you cut the legendary Dionne Warwick off not happy
Silly!! Al would appreciate us missing him but he’d be the first to say, “The Show must go on!” Like a pro that he is & not disappoint the kids!! Come on!!
The WHOLE parade was the hosts running their mouths and the Broadway shows as per usual. This year only the feet of the balloons were shown. Forget the marching bands dancers and bands of the city police etc. people who make up the PARADE part. I dont. even want to watch anymore
there was too much chit chat about trivial things and way too many commercials. We saw very little of the parade. We saw what they wanted us to see.
