Al Roker received flowers and support from his Today colleagues. The weatherman is currently recovering from his scary medical issue. On Friday, November 18, he broke his silence on Instagram. This came after nearly two weeks of concern about the fan favorite.

Viewers couldn’t help but notice his prolonged leave of absence from the Today Show. His co-hosts never shared his whereabouts out of respect for him. His wife Deborah Roberts hinted that something was wrong. However, she also didn’t want to spill any details.

Beloved Today Show fan favorite breaks his silence

The meteorologist shared that he was in the hospital with blood clots in his lungs and legs. On Friday, it was reported that Al Roker has spent time in the hospital amid his absence from the Today Show. Only his wife Deborah knew about his secret health battle. The 68-year-old took to Instagram to share a photo of a beautiful bouquet of flowers he received.

Al Roker revealed that he went through a scary ordeal. His doctor found that he has blood clots in his legs and lungs. The television personality was immediately hospitalized. Of course, the wacky co-host had a great sense of humor about the situation.

“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been,” Al Roker wrote in his Instagram caption. “Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots to my lungs. After some whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical and on the way to recovery. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and I hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”

Fans weren’t the only ones who were concerned about him. Many of Al Roker’s Today colleagues had no idea he was in the hospital. Savannah Guthrie wrote: “You’re the strongest person we know. Miss you and will see you soon!!” Her co-host Hoda Kotb added: “Al Roker — hurry back to us… counting the days xoxoxo.”

Dylan Dreyer commented: “Love you Al and praying every day for a speedy recovery!” Jenna Bush Hager said: “Love you, Al! Hurry home. You are missed and loved beyond measure!” Craig Melvin had his issues with Al Roker on the live show before. However, he showed nothing but love and support. He wrote: “Love you brother…can’t wait to have you back you!”
