Blake Shelton will be leaving The Voice after next season. Though many fans of the show are heartbroken, he knows that his time has come to step away. Blake joined the reality series competition when it first began in 2011 and has been the only coach never to stray. Now, with his time coming up to depart, the musician and producer has come up with a list of retirement gifts he thinks he is entitled to. So, what exactly is he expecting? Read on for more details.
What Are On Blake Shelton’s The Voice Retirement Gift List?
After all of these years, and eight wins (so far), Blake deserves a proper send-off when he departs after Season 23. However, he has already started a list of items he would like to be gifted by fellow coaches. Per People, he joked that he felt newbie Camila Cabello should get him the ATV he desires. To that, Cabello quipped: “Whoa, very big. Santa’s budget is a little tight this year, I don’t know.” Yet, Blake had other coaches he was coming after for parting gifts.
He would like some of his fellow coach, John Legend’s LVE wine but not just a bottle or a case, as Shelton specified. “A mixture of his choice, but not a case — a pallet.” Since his wife, Gwen Stefani is also a coach this season, what did he request of her? “We split everything anyway, so whatever she buys herself.” To that, she asked if she could redecorate their home but he quickly reminded her that this is his retirement, not hers.
In all actuality, Blake will be the only coach from Season 22 to return next year. John, Gwen, and Camila will all be replaced by three new coaches. Technically, two new ones and one familiar face. Kelly Clarkson is stepping back into a chair and joining her is Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan. It has yet to be seen what his retirement gift requests will be from them or even host Carson Daly.
Starting next month, Blake Shelton has a new show with Carson Daly called Barmageddon coming to USA Network. It will be all about fun bar games mixed with musical performances and celebrity appearances. Nikki Bella also joins in as a co-host and the three promise a great time. Therefore, fans of Blake will still get to see him on their television screens. Plus, he has his music with a new holiday album out now. Fortunately, it seems there will never be a shortage of Blake for the foreseeable future.
