One competitor wins the Mirrorball Trophy in the DWTS finale
There were some quick changes to the finale. Derek Hough and his fiancee Hayley Erbert were supposed to perform, but a last-minute injury forced them to drop out. But even so, it still made for a fantastic finale to a great season. The eliminated 12 couples even came back to perform one last routine with their partners.
This week, the final four couples had to perform two routines. In the first round, they performed a redemption routine. In round two, they got to show their stuff off in the freestyle.
But when all is said and done, who took home the Mirrorball Trophy at the end of the DWTS finale?
The finale placement for Dancing With The Stars Season 31 is as follows:
Fourth place: Shangela & Gleb Savchenko
Third place: Wayne Brady & Witney Carson
Runners up: Gabby Windey & Val Chmerkovskiy
DWTS Season 31 champions: Chari D’Amelio & Mark Ballas
After working hard all season, Charli and Mark are so excited to bring home that Mirrorball Trophy! Are you excited to hear about their win? Be sure to share your own thoughts in the comments below.
What does the future of the show look like from here?
All good things must come to an end. As announced during the semifinals, this is the last season for Len Goodman and Cheryl Burke. However, Cheryl said she would be open to returning if she can have Len’s open seat at the judges’ table. Time will tell if the production team offers it to her. Cheryl gave one last spectacular performance with her friends, Pasha Pashkov and Louis Van Amstel. She’s absolutely adored her time on the show, but after 26 seasons it’s time for her to move on.
Now that the season has come to an end, the pro dancers are preparing to go on tour in the new year. Fans can check out the official tour website to get information on tour stops, ticket prices, and so much more. Some of the celebrity contestants will likely join them, so fans will need to stay tuned to see who’s going along for the ride.
