‘The View’: Joy Behar Enjoying New Role Too Much?

Joy Behar is enjoying her new role a little too much. The View panelist has taken on the role of moderator while Whoopi Goldberg has been away. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, the comedian tested positive for COVID after she celebrated her 67th birthday this past weekend.

It’s been a series of unfortunate events for Whoopi, who has been open about her health problems. The 80-year-old has taken on this new role and she’s abused her power already. In the latest broadcast, Joy cut off her co-hosts in the middle of their discussion. Read on to learn more.

Taking a page from Whoopi Goldberg’s moderating

Up to this point, only Whoopi’s been known to shut down the show and shut her co-hosts up. Joy Behar is following in her footsteps as moderator this week. She enjoyed her new role for much of the week. On Friday’s broadcast of The View, Joy sent the show into a commercial break.

The panel discussed politics during the Hot Topics segment. Joy cut off the discussion because she didn’t want to hear any more of it. The panel discussed Hershel Walker’s attacks on a politician’s parenting skills. At first, Joy gave everyone at the table a chance to share their sides of the matter.

Sara Haines and Ana Navarro kind of dragged out their opinions. Joy Behar decided to cut them off in the middle of the live segment. The two were passionately discussing the politicians they like. Joy didn’t want to hear any more of it.

She shut down the show while saying, “Alright, we gotta go!” Her co-hosts continued to speak even though she tried to call it quits. She shook her head at the camera and told the viewers at home that they’ll be back. The talk show then went into a commercial break as the two continued to speak.

Joy Behar moderates The View

For much of the week, Joy Behar has been moderating The View. She took over the role from Whoopi, who has been out with COVID. Sunny Hostin was also absent from the show after she survived one guest’s coughing fit. She was absent from the morning show on Thursday and Friday.

Fans don’t have to fear for her health. Joy Behar explained that Sunny was traveling. Some of the fans took to Twitter to share that they miss Sunny. On Monday, Sara took on the role of moderator since both Joy Behar and Whoopi were missing. Fans weren’t happy with how she handled the position.
