‘My 600-Lb. Life’: Where Are The Hambrick Brothers In 2022?
John and Lonnie Hambrick made their My 600-Lb. Life debut back in Season 8. The brothers both weighed in at well over 600 lbs, but John was pushing 700. They knew they needed to make a change if they wanted to live long, healthy lives.
Like many other participants on the show, their journeys were long and difficult. But they did manage to succeed with the program and experience dramatic results.

Many guests on My 600-Lb. Life don’t do well when they don’t have a strong support system at home. John and Lonnie Hambrick had each other to lean on when they experienced problems in the program. In other words, many fans weren’t surprised to see them make progress with their goals.
According to Lonnie’s Instagram page, he’s now a professional hair stylist in Haltom City, Texas. Based on his posts, he really enjoys going to the gym and has an active social life. It also appears that he has a steady partner named Richard. John doesn’t have such an active social media presence, so it’s harder to find information on him. But he does make the occasional appearance on Lonnie’s page.
Redditors found an astonishing update from the Hambrick brothers online
Redditors noticed how much weight John and Lonnie had actually lost since their time on the show. They discussed one of Lonnie’s recent Instagram posts in a new thread.
“John has ran the train horn at the Boyd football games for 14 years,” the Instagram post from Lonnie says. “When he was fat it was one of the only things he could really do. He sat in a chair and would sound the horn at touchdowns and other big moments of the game. Last night was his last night because he’s taking a job at a school district and will be coaching football. He has loved football his entire life and I’m so proud to see him finally able to do everything he has ever wanted.”
“They make me so happy! Both clearly living their best lives,” one user said in the comments.
“I didn’t even recognize them Omg!!!!! It took me so long to place them and they were one of my favorite episodes. Wow!” another Redditor added. Many echoed similar sentiments and were excited to see that the Hambrick brothers looked so happy and healthy.
