‘DWTS’: Emma Slater Admits To Booing Carrie Ann This Week
Emma Slater has been an important part of Dancing With The Stars for many years. But that doesn’t always mean that she’s going to agree with the judges.
During Halloween Night, both Len Goodman and Carrie Ann Inaba received a lot of boos from the audience members when they gave unpopular feedback. Pro dancer Emma Slater joined in with the booing.
Fans at home probably didn’t notice Emma joining in with the chorus of boos until Carrie Ann directly called her out. Keep reading to learn more about the exchange and what Emma had to say about it afterward.
Emma Slater & Trevor Donovan pulled their scores up this week
This year, Emma Slater is partnered with Hallmark actor Trevor Donovan. The couple have been towards the bottom of the leaderboard for several weeks in a row — that is, until Halloween Night. Trevor and Emma were one point shy of a perfect score for their Halloween routine, which really impressed the judges.
But even so, Emma found herself butting heads with the judges over the scores they gave another couple.
Jersey Shore star Vinny Guadagnino and his partner Koko Iwasaki have consistently been at the bottom of the leaderboard week after week. However, Vinny remains popular with fans. Their votes keep him in the competition. Several DWTS viewers think that the judges are actually too rough with Vinny — and it seems like Emma really agrees.
The British dancer did confess to booing Carrie Ann Inaba
While Carrie Ann Inaba was critiquing Koko and Vinny, boos poured out from around the ballroom. However, the judge narrowed in on one of the pros in the balcony.
“I hear a little boo. Is that Emma? Why do I feel like that’s Emma? Emma, I know it’s you! It’s OK, I love you,” Carrie Ann joked before threatening, “Have you danced yet? No, just kidding.”
As it turns out, Emma later did admit to booing.
“I’m a massive cheerer, but I’m a massive boo-er as well because it’s TV and that’s the name of the game,” the British dancer told Parade. “I like to support my friends and my colleagues when they’re getting some remarks, so I very lightly booed, but she definitely called me out on it. I was like, ‘I’m so sorry.’ I was very sorry about that but it’s the protective side of me.”
DWTS will be back with a brand new episode this Monday night. The theme for the November 7 episode is 90s Night, so stay tuned. The competition is getting more and more exciting each week and you really won’t want to miss out!
