George Stephanopoulos Says ‘It’s Been a Great Run’ On ‘GMA’
George Stephanopoulos says “it’s been a great run” on Good Morning America. This comes amid the rumors that he’s retiring from the talk show. The 61-year-old shared some interesting antidotes after he and Robin Roberts received their latest honor. The two took part in an exclusive sit-down interview with The Associated Press.
Reflects on his time on GMA
In their interview, which was published earlier this month, George Stephanopoulos talked about his time on the talk show. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, George revealed that he almost turned down the position he now shares with co-anchor Robin Roberts. They received the title of the longest-running pair of co-hosts on any morning show.
George called it an “incredible experience.” He dropped a hint that they’ve had a “great run.” Robin and George got their start on GMA in 2009. They continue to front the show 13 years later. In their interview with The Associated Press, George reflected on his time as he shared his pride in his work.
“It’s been a great run. Robin has been a joy to work with,” George Stephanopoulos said. “We’ve had a lot of fun and great success and covered a lot of consequential things. It has been an incredible experience.”
The veteran host has been missing from GMA. He’s been busy promoting his new Hulu series Power Trip, which shows aspiring journalists covering the 2022 midterm election. George Stephanopoulos gave fans a “sneak peek” on social media. The show received a mixed response from his fanbase.
Some argued that George should focus on journalism. They argued that journalists shouldn’t toy with the line of becoming a celebrity. Others were excited to watch the new series. They think George will be a great mentor to the young journalists.
Robin Roberts & George Stephanopoulos hit a new milestone
The duo hit a new milestone. During their interview with The Associated Press, Robin Roberts said they work “very well together.” George Stephanopoulos joked about their age. Both of them are 61 years old. They overcame a lot in their respective careers, including health issues and other setbacks.
Robin and George Stephanopoulos helped make Good Morning America even more popular than The Today Show. George turned down the position three times. Even Robin wasn’t sure if she was the right fit because her previous experience was in sports broadcasting. She proved herself wrong and countless critics along the way.
George Stephanopoulos continues to focus on other projects outside of GMA. He also has his own production company where he focuses on news documentaries. George is old news. New blood is needed.
I agree. Plus he is so biased against anything Republican. I like Robin and Michael.
George mumbles and talks so fast its hard to understand what he is saying. What is the rush. No other members speak this fast or mumbles.
This morning was great. Fair coverage on the Trump victory. I would watch this program in the future if it could be as straight forward as it was today.
