‘Bringing Up Bates:’ John Webster Ends Up In ER
Bringing Up Bates star Alyssa Bates’ husband, John Webster has landed in the emergency room. On Friday, John and Alyssa dropped a new vlog on their YouTube channel to explain the full situation to fans. So, what happened, and how is he doing now? Keep reading for all of the details the couple has shared so far.

At the beginning of the video, Alyssa explained, “John started saying that his heart was racing.”
Before heading to the hospital, they consulted with one of their friends, who is a doctor, and they were advised to head to the ER. Alyssa said he had an EKG done and that he was in a-fib. Fortunately, John’s mom was able to stay with their four kids overnight, and the next morning, a friend came to watch them. So, Bringing Up Bates star Alyssa stayed with her husband.
After one night in the hospital, John and Alyssa learned that they would need to stay another night for more testing and monitoring. Plus, he had to chat with a cardiologist. They tried several medications that didn’t work to bring down his heart rate. She said they were going to do an echocardiogram and a transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) because he was still in a-fib. The TEE was supposed to shock his heart back into normal rhythm.
In addition to his heart concerns, John was also in pain from his shingles.
Is the Bringing Up Bates star okay now?
On John’s third day in the hospital, the couple revealed to fans that his heart was finally back to a normal rhythm. So, he was able to go back home.
A few days after going home, the Bringing Up Bates star was supposed to get a heart monitor to wear for 30 days. They are hopeful that this is a one-time thing and nothing more serious. It sounds like the only issue is that his heart went out of rhythm, and otherwise, he was totally healthy. So, hopefully, he feels completely better soon.
