Blake Shelton To Exit ‘The Voice’ After 23 Seasons
Blake Shelton will be leaving The Voice after Season 23. He is the last OG coach on the show since Adam Levine departed after Season 16. Since then, there has been a rotation of coaches. Now, Blake has made the very difficult decision that it is time to step away.
Blake Shelton Has One Season Left
According to a statement on his Facebook page, Blake will remain for one more season. Currently, the show is in the midst of Season 22 and still has a long way to go. It is the first season he is coaching with Gwen Stefani as his wife. After this season, he shared that he will stick around for one more. Then, he wrote that it will be time for him to depart. The musician admitted that this has been something that he has been going back and forth with for some time.
He notes that it has been a “hell of a ride” since he began twelve years ago. Shelton also went on to thank absolutely everyone involved in creating and producing the NBC show. Additionally, he acknowledges that he has made “lifelong bonds” with all of his coaches as well as host, Carson Daly. He actually officiated Blake’s wedding to Gwen last year.
Then there are the singers who make the show what it is. Finally, the fans who have kept the show running for all of these 22 seasons. He seems genuinely grateful for everything that he has gained from the series. Now, he just has to finish out this season on a high note and then go on to the next season with a big win.
What A Ride It Has Been
Since starting the series in 2011, Blake Shelton has won eight times in 21 seasons. This has been a huge deal for the coach who is extremely competitive. Initially, he and Adam Levine were known for their fierce yet witty bromance. Then, Kelly Clarkson came on and was able to be a perfect match for Blake. Now, he has Camila Cabello to take him on and she has absolutely no fear. Personally, he married his second wife Miranda Lambert at the beginning of his time on The Voice.
Sadly, the two parted ways but he ended up meeting Gwen Stefani when she joined the panel as a coach. The two started dating in 2015 and wed in 2021. He has enjoyed both reality tv fame as well as country music success. Fans love watching him as a coach because he is not only dedicated but he is compassionate. Plus, he is fun and excited. It will be a sad departure.
