‘Today’ Hoda Kotb & Savannah Guthrie Get Misty Eyed On Air

Home Edit Co-Founder Clea Shearer Shares Her Cancer Diagnosis
The segment trailed a women’s journey as she fought breast cancer. The story followed Clea Shearer, who is the co-founder of Home Edit, a brand dedicated to reinventing traditional organizing. The company merges it with interior styling and modern design to create a signature look. As per The Sun, Clea was diagnosed with the deadly disease earlier this year.

With Hoda and Today’s help, Clea met two other brave women battling cancer, who supported one another throughout the journey. Before Hoda’s interview with them, the three women had never met one another in person. During the segment, Hoda interviewed all three.
Today’s Hoda & Savannah Discuss Moving Stories From Clea’s Life
As the emotional story came to an end, Hoda and her co-host Savannah Guthrie sat next to one another on the couch as they discussed the interview. However, Hoda seemed so touched by her women’s stories that she started choking up during the conversation. She talked about how Clea lost most of her hair during the chemo treatments. The host also shared that the ladies wished to keep their heads shaved.

Savannah shared details of a post written by Clea that mentioned she wore a wig when dropping off or picking up her child from school.
She explained, “Because she didn’t want to embarrass them, and this is going to make me cry, and then her daughter said, Mommy, you don’t embarrass me I think you’re beautiful.” This is when Savannah was seen trying to control her tears.

As both the hosts controlled their feelings, Hoda mentioned how she spent some time with the women in her special calm spot located in NYC. With tears again falling from her eyes, Hoda mentioned, “That was my spot. It was very calming to me, it’s like, there’s no green space here but that.”
“I don’t know why I’m so weepy today!” said Savannah as she ended the segment.
Former Today Host Katie Diagnosed With Breast Cancer
However, these women aren’t the only ones touched by the devastation of breast cancer. A former co-host of the Today Show shocked fans after she revealed her diagnosis. Katie Couric took to her Instagram to update fans on her personal life. The former host has lumpectomy surgery back in July that removed about 2.5 centimeters of the deadly tumor. She continued receiving radiation treatments that ended recently in late September.
